Well, again I am not aware of anyone else that sells it. I ordered enough of it in different sizes to keep me busy for a real long time. Think my order was $40 or so with $11 shipping. I have a lot of money tied up in HT gear and whatnot...so I guess the $11 to ship as opposed to $4 or $5 that maybe you would think didn't really disuade me. I wanted Gloss shrink...I got gloss shrink...

Say nezff have you ever used any of the fabric heat shrink to make a cable?

No, haven't used any of the fabric, haven't really had the need.

Ordered banana plugs from nakamichi plug on the 18th. Still not here. Have everything else to get these things built.

Anyone know where nakamichi plug ships from or how long it took to get their order? Seems a little ridiculous that it's taking this long. Getting frustrated.

Where did you order them from? Most of the ones on eBay are shipped from Hongkong

Ah I was thinking of using it on my sub-woofer cable and other a/v cables with black flex I was thinking it would look nice and uniform thought gloss would probably work also.

I ordered from that website last fall - they come directly from Hong Kong. It took 4 - 5 weeks for them to come.

I actually ordered some more on the 24th and they haven't yet sent me tracking information, which they did the previous time I ordered. I sent them an email today trying to get some contact.

Delay might be because of Chinese New Year. I noticed a lot of the EBay sellers in China/Hong Kong had notes on their sites that they wouldn't be shipping anything until after January 31.

I'll probably give another week, and if I don't hear anything, will need to consider opening a complaint or whatever thru PayPal.

FYI - I just received a reply back with my tracking number. They did indicate there was a delay due to Chinese New Year. Looks like it was shipped on January 31.

If you haven't received any email from them about your tracking info, try emailing them at sales@nakamichiplug.com.

(Note: their "tracker" page on the site is down right now, but I was able to use it the last time, so keep checking back once you have the info)

I ordered from Nakamichiplug.com as well and no confirmation. I sent an email to the sales email and no response. I ordered from GLS yesterday and I should recieve by this weekend.

I think I may just cancel the Nak order. I've started my first cable, and just waiting for the connectors.

get what you pay for with Nak. Gls plugs are good. The great thing about them is that if you do have a problem, Eric or Brian will send you more at no cost.

Anyone using cable pants with Canare 4S11 cable? What size did you use for 2 conductor connections?
Not to start up the whole "proper color coding" thing, but I want to be OCD. Does anyone know where to get tan/biege colored heatshrink? I found dark brown but need tan color.

Thanks!

Why go through all the fuss with jacketing when you can pick up some 12ga magnet wire that will sound just as good or better? Not as nice looking but I would put the magnet wire up against some well known cables. Look into Paul Speltz's anti cable and read the testimonials. There is a recipe for multi gauge magnet wire as well. There are a few designers using multiple gauge solid core wire. If you like try different builds this would be a good one to research.

I have not seen tan/beige, but I wouldn't be surprised if it existed somewhere. I believe Barry/Furry Letters has red, white, blue, and black.

And is it easy to insert two conductors into the "leg"? Do you guys heat the pants up first?

no heat necessary for me (Monoprice wire, Parts Express pants).

I've noticed the the BJC locking banana plugs have different lengths. If you look at the youtube video (0:52) below the entry side with the 4 conductors is longer. Is this an older or newer BJC is selling?

Convince me that I need high end cables. Until then, monoprice will do.

LOL! Yeah, really... read the thread - it is all about making Monoprice cables LOOK like high end cables for a fraction of the cost.

Exactly! That's what I did, or attempted anyway. Took some Monoprice 4/12 and made some pretty decent looking stuff, refining my technique with each pair I twist up.

I've got a new center arriving tomorrow and I'll be making my 7th cable. It's been a pretty fun project I must say.

Umm where do you think th cable is coming from? Idea is taking the boring monoprice cable and making it look overpriced.
I know its not a speaker cable, but it follows the same concept, looks nice without breaking the bank, not much of a notable performance difference.
