yes. the pants are exactly that, little pants with legs that cover the cable legs. The shrink is just something that you can use for finishing.

has anyone done a poll yet to see what connectors seem to work best? ive read through a lot of this thread. Looking to order some up soon, thinking either GLS locking or nak locking.

I have both the Nak and locking GLS. I think the GLSs look nicer and work better for my application. Solidly built as well.

This is the first I've seen this thread. I recently had nezff make a set of cables for my system. I couldn't be happier and I definitely recommend him if you don't have the time, patience, or skill to do this yourself.

starting on a new set of garden hose sized cables for my mains.. 12/4 rubber coated wire from home depot, monster tech flex, still need to pick up some pants and banana plugs for these.. the knuconcepts 12/4 pants won't fit over the huge coating on these wires so I'm not sure what I'm going to do there.


a small slab of wire with mono price 12/2 in wall to show the size difference



going to try out bi amping my kef's

Hey Chris-

Not sure about the zip cord, but for the Monoprice 12/2 inwall speakerwire I've used 3/8" techflex and 10mm cable pants (Parts Express). I'm sure Barry (Furryletters/eBay) can answer the techflex question for zip cord, and you may need to call Parts Express about the pants.

10mm pants 3/8 flex.
1/4 clean cut can be used over smaller wire.
9mm pants can be used but seem too get too tight.

its bigger than the extension cord stuff by id say about 1/4 its heavy duty stuff for i presume construction workers

Simple but clean and works very good, well recomended cable bought in bulk from Blue Jeans Cable.

Quick question - has anyone found techflex in either brown or beige? I'm considering dressing my homemade BJC 12 speaker cables, but would like for them to blend in with the carpet.

Also, for this cable, is 3/8" techflex the correct size? I know I saw it somewhere in this thread, but too lazy go go back.

Yes, 3/8 works best for 12 gauge monoprice cable.

I plan on possibly using the rattlesnake when I get all my new speakers to blend a little better with my carpet also.

Thank you sir for the prompt reply. For my rears and surrounds I will be using monoprice 14/2 in-wall (as this is what is run to the wall jacks). Might I get a techflex diameter size? As I recall the only time 14 gauge wire was mentioned it was 4 wire.

I use 3/8. The next size down IMHO is too small unless you use clean cut.
