If you read the Flextech description on their eBay store it states that if you want 50 FT or more just increase your quantity. So if you buy 2 25FT, it will come in one 50FT roll.

With the monoprice 12/2 wire, is it better to use 3/8 or 1/2" techflex?
Speaker wire, cable pants, and techflex all arrived, but I'm still waiting on Nakamichi plugs from China. Looks like they will arrive mid next week. biggrin.gif Ended up going with black Techflex; but after seeing the carbon color, I should have gone that route.
Nah. Black will look. Great. But my next set I make will be blue

I didnt have to pay anything extra when I ordered the cable pants, Techflex, or banana plugs, I got it all shipped to my house here in Canada also, the only thing I would have gotten raped on coming over the border would have been the roll of 12g speaker wire from monoprice. The pants, techflex and bananas I got on ebay. The speaker wire I got shipped to my buddies house over in Detroit, then I just went for a visit and picked up all the other goodies I ordered from monoprice myself.

Yes. He refunds shipping on multiple orders if combined shipping is cheaper.

I ordered some speaker wire pants on Friday from Parts Express. I just got an email that it shipped yesterday, but I won't get them until the 28th. Needless to say, I will continue to buy my speaker wire pant legs from ebay from now on. It takes 3 days from ebay.

Nice -- Pure Evil.

What color of jacket did you use? Great outcome! I am gonna do the same thing in my new media room.

You might get a COD charge for %13 tax on each of the orders when they show up at your door, but, hopefully you dont get screwed for Brokerage, that is a total scam. You get a bill in the mail a week later for some lousy paperwork that some random company allegedly "filled out" on your behalf for importation paperwork. Thats what I dont like paying, I can handle the tax, (being Canadian lord knows Ive paid enough of it) its the brokerage that really bugs me. Id rather get it shipped to my buddies house, go for a visit, have a beer, shoot the breeze, and come home, most of the time I dont get dinged for tax if the value amount of the stuff Im bringing across is less than about 200 bucks.

And yes I do slip him bottles of Crown Royal once in a while, but the river moves too fast to freeze all the way across. wink.gif

well these are so cheap to make maybe i should make and sell for a small profit.. i dont work on disablility pension.. i was just at my local future shop store which is like a best buy in the US and owned by them now they wanted 159.99 for 2 10 ft 16 gauge wire with nice cover and bananas.. made my klipsch.. i could sell for 49.99 and make a tidy profit. maybe even 32 with volume..

well i hooked up the new cable to the centre channel speaker and hell it even works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

never used a banana plug before at the future shop they sell 2 pairs for 24.99

how many to go skys the limit CR13

do a couple of 10 footers for my mains tonight maybe..

CR13 do you think you could shrink wrap 2 25 ft flex tex together on a 50 ft cable ?? guess i need to order from another source parts express only sells 25 ft packs in 3/8

cheers
All these cables look great! Unfortunately I don't have much time or the handy skills to make these. Can anyone recommend where to buy nice looking speaker wires such as these? Obviously I'm willing to pay a premium over DIY, but I just don't want to pay $100/ft crazy prices. I'm one that doesn't believe expensive cables affect sound quality. I just want nice looking 10 or 12 guage speaker wire and reasonable prices, any suggestions?

Delta I remember somebody in this thread talking about ordering a 100 foot roll of something almost identical to the Techflex. I think it was Evil himself mentioned it.

Wow, with those prices, man that is not a bad idea on trying to see if you are able to put some of your speaker wires on the market.

About your question, I guess you already have 2 sets of 25 ft techflex and you are planning on using both for your 50 ft cable. If that is the case, well I think you can tie both 25 ft techflex using electric tape and then you can cover it using the heat shrink material.

Now, if you don't have the techflex, then you can go ahead and buy a 50 ft roll. I purchased mine from furryletters and you can buy the techflex on 25 ft rolls, but when you order more than that 50 ft, 75 ft, 100 ft, etc. they will send you a single roll for the amount of techflex that you purchase. In my case I placed my order for 50 ft of techflex and it was just a single roll, that of course I used to built 5 speaker wires.

Keep having fun and good luck with your speaker wire business!
