audyssey for PC

It must be possible for someone to write software to work with the audio card. To mic various locations in a room, using the mic input on the PC of course. Then have software to make calculations and eq the room and delay the same way audyssey does it, for a 1/3 the cost.

Audyssey already has the software to make the room corrections. Now they only need a way to make the corrections prior to being sent to the audio card. I use the analogs I'm not sure if it could be applied to the HDMI.

My card is a Asus Xonar HDAV1.3 deluxe and that's exactly what it does. I use the 7.1 analogs but if you use the HDMI the xonar applies the LPCM up to 24/192 audio to the out going HDMI stream. Why couldn't audyssey also be applied?

If Audyssey had software I would buy it. Perhaps not a big enough demand most people are getting prepros that do it.

take a look at this: http://www.hometheatershack.com/foru...ally-htpc.html, but I think that your Xonar will not be able to use directwire drivers.

Thanks for your interest in ARC System!

ARC is designed specifically for the recording studio environment, so it would not be as useful in an HTPC-based environment. Your media player would need to be able to host ARC as a plug-in, which most do not (Neutrino for Mac being a notable exception). Also, ARC does not currently support multi-channel audio, so if you're using a surround-sound audio system this wouldn't work either.

If you're looking for a solution for your home theater, you would probably want to visit Audyssey's website. Audyssey is the company that developed the technology used in ARC, and they do make several solutions for the home theater.

I hope this helps you out!

Best,

Dan

I know. I was merely pointing out that it would be possible if Audyssey felt there was a market for it.
