It must be possible for someone to write software to work with the audio card. To mic various locations in a room, using the mic input on the PC of course. Then have software to make calculations and eq the room and delay the same way audyssey does it, for a 1/3 the cost.
Audyssey already has the software to make the room corrections. Now they only need a way to make the corrections prior to being sent to the audio card. I use the analogs I'm not sure if it could be applied to the HDMI.
My card is a Asus Xonar HDAV1.3 deluxe and that's exactly what it does. I use the 7.1 analogs but if you use the HDMI the xonar applies the LPCM up to 24/192 audio to the out going HDMI stream. Why couldn't audyssey also be applied?
If Audyssey had software I would buy it. Perhaps not a big enough demand most people are getting prepros that do it.
