I just inherited the Sony vph-1271q from my brother. It has not been used in about 3 years, and I was told the fans had been replaced in it except for the 2 above the lenses. Anyway, when I fired it up, it looked fine. After I used it to watch a couple movies, I noticed that the right third of the picture was massively deconverging. The same thing was happen on the left third, though the deconvergence was not as bad. This effect sometimes corrects itself, and sometimes will stay that way as long as the projector is on. One friend has suggested that some capacitors in the projector may have dried out over the years it wasn't used, but I just don't know. Is this even fixable? Is this something that has been seen before, or is this totally crazy? Any advice/help would be appreciated.
