Pioneer VSX-919 and Panasonic S2 Help

I have a Pioneer VSX-919 hooked up to a Panasonic plasma S2 television via HDMI. I've been having a number of issues with it. First off, I set up my Logitech Harmony remote to control everything, and when I tell it to for example "Play Xbox", it will turn everything on, but the receiver will shut off again after a few seconds. But if I have the TV and Xbox on already, then turn on the receiver, it works fine. This is annoying, but acceptable.

However what isn't acceptable is that sometimes after I turn everything off, the little blue light on the power button on my receiver stays on. I left it like that for a few hours and when i came back, the receiver was very warm. But I can't reproduce the problem consistently. Like I said, sometimes after i turn it off the light stays on, sometimes not. I figured it had to do w/ the TV, so I disconnected the HDMI between the two, and it turns off. But now that only works some of the time. I've tried turning it back on, and changing sources before shutting down, but no go. The only thing that really works is unplugging the unit, which is a PITA. Sometimes after a day of it unplugged, the light will turn back on when I plug it back in.

Another problem that will hopefully help someone diagnose this problem, is that I have my PC's sound plugged into the receiver via RCA. Whenever I change it to that source, the speakers buzz. If i unplug the HDMI cable to the TV though, the buzzing stops.

Here is a description of everything thats plugged into the receiver: Xbox 360 Slim via HDMI, Nintendo Wii via RCA, PC audio via RCA. Audio output to Polk RM510 5.1 speakers, and video output to Panasonic TC-P50S2.

Can anyone help??

Hi Oranga, don't know if this will solve your issue but try turning off HDMI-CEC feature on both units (Kuro Link for Pioneer and Viera Link for Panasonic).

I tried this immediately after you posted and it worked! I just wanted to wait a few days to be certain that the problem was gone, and it appears so. Thanks a lot!

Does anyone have any insight into the buzzing problem I described in my OP?

Don't know but does it also buzz using the other two Tv HDMI input?

Are you using the Antenna In port for basic cable or OTA? If so, disconnect it from the Tv to see if the buzz goes away.

Yeah, it buzzes as long as the TV is connected to the receiver via HDMI. And no, don't have anything hooked up to the antenna in port.

Oh well, its not that big of a deal, I'm planning on moving my computer upstairs soon anyway. I was just hoping someone had dealt with the problem successfully before.
