Hello gent's

I have one noob question

I have movies with DTS-HD MA and the info of audio for example is like this :

VIDEO:

so why when I check it in Mediainfo i showings me 1561kbps and 16bit depth not 24bits why i doesnt show original Bit rate...but when playing such movie I have a DTS-HD Master logo on amp, so does it mean that is fine?? cause im really confused about this why it doesnt show original bit rate

Anyone experience any problems with the Remote Dongle/IR Receiver not wanting to mount properly?

I get stuck in a loop of trying to load what is supposedly the included driver but continuously fails. Totally ties up the PC. Not sure what happened...after the BIOS update, it's been so bad I have to leave it unplugged.

I did swap my original IR Receiver out with the other two in the house and both work initially but then fail the next time I get ready to use the device. The original IR Sensor is working fine in both the other PCs.

Weird but I wanted to ask...

I did not read your whole post because it was too many words for my short attention span.

At a quick glance- your media info is probably reading the normal DTS track that's part of an HD-Master track.

HD master is backwards compatible with normal DTS, or also contains DTS oldschool for those who don't have Master Audio decoding ability.

Plugged it back in this morning, different USB socket, and it's currently working. Will have to see if the problem returns again again.

I understand, but why when i open a movie in mpc-hc and choose filters ->lav splitter -> audio ( english dts-hd ma , 48000hz 5.1 1536kb/s ) why i can choose normal dts hd ma not dts core?? or anyway it;s just for info but real audio which is played is original dts-hd ma 3664 kbps... sorry for this noob questions but i would really wanna know why is like this

my setup is

gt440 + onkyo 3008 + mpc-hc + LAV codecs + madVR + Reclock

Reclock set for bit perfect - in reclock info when playing media is WASAPI excl. (bit exact)

...and the problem is back again. Worked for several hours this morning then after some inactivity, it just seemed to die.

It is DEFINITELY something to do with the Microsoft eHome infrared transceiver, driver related.

The weird thing is though...it was "Ba-Boing, Ba-Donking" like crazy and I was getting ready to reboot so I close iTunes and it loaded and stayed loaded this time.

Is there something wonky with the USB Stuff, something related to iTunes or something that I did in the BIOS Flash from ASRock that could have caused this to become a problem?

8 hours spent today on the guides.

They are completely reorganized into categories now instead of chronological order.

Hope you like the changes. Let me know what you think.

I am biased but I think this will make it even easier for newbies to get into HTPC.

Excellent! I will be purchasing the guide soon. All parts are in for an i3-2105 mini-itx build. Just need a good 2 days to build and go thru the guide

Just checked out the revised guide's - excellent! By annotating the tab's it is no longer necessary to go to the index first to find what you want. Congratulations Assassin, a job well done.

Curious about something.

I believe I read in this thread that the fan facing the CPU cooler in the included power supply in the Apex MI-008 exhausts air into the case and the CPU cooler. Is this true?

I had thought it would be an intake fan and air would be exhausted out the rear of the case.

It appears this PSU is identical in dimensions to the included PSU.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817256063

I was wondering if it's fan (facing the CPU cooler) is intake or exhaust and if intake would it potentially provide a superior solution for ventilation as well? That is intaking air from the CPU cooler and exhausting it through the rear of the case.

I am using assassins guides and they are excellent.

Everything is running just great with an i3 intel chip.

I was watching a blu ray iso and powerdvd 12 stated that refresh rate I had set did not match the media and whether I would allow the software to take care of it to "improve the performance" I allowed it to and no visible difference to me.

Now I question what refresh rate am I supposed to set on my intel chip "graphics and media control panel". My htpc is connected to a denon receiver which is outputting to a 1080p projector.

options for refresh rate include 23, 24, 59, 60 etc.

I had it on 60 because I guessed. Is there an optimal setting?

thanks in advance.

Can your TV playback 24p? If not use 60. If yes try 23 (23.976) and/or 60 and see which one you like best.

My projector plays 1080p/24 I checked. So I have set it 23 as you suggested and tested the 60 setting as well.

The movie looks good both ways. Only difference is that while not watching a movie the mouse when scrolling does not seem as smooth at the 23 setting.

btw do I need to change in WMC to 23 or 24 as well or leave it at 60 refresh rate?

So with this 23 setting is the 24p issue with intel chips moot?

All chips (Intel, AMD, NVidia) have the 24p issue and Intel is as good now as any of them. See here

If it looks good then enjoy the movie.
