Check my FAQ. I have a good link there.

In addition to the links provided by Assassin, I suggest searching both for your case model (and perhpas also your motherboard model) on YouTube. You'll almost certainly find a variety of videos some of which just show you the item in detail, and others of which document builds using that case or motherboard. It can be useful to give you some comfort and a heads up for ideas and issues that you might not have considered.

I usually do that before I even order a case just to see in advance how everything goes together, to better plan my build, and to get an idea whether there might be any "gotchas" that I might want to know about before I start.

You'd be surprised how many different cases have You Tube videos. Some homemade, some by bloggers, some by places like Newegg.

The developer has stated in multiple different posts that this bug was supposed to be fixed in version 6 (we are now on version 7).

I am unbuilding my entire array just to deselect the recycling bins from each drive. Then I will rebuild. It might take most of the day today.

I haven't added any data yet to my array so I was able to quickly test this out. I performed the actions that you added (slightly modified as I had to delete my current Cruise Control configuration so I could access the drives) and did the whole recycle bin thing. Rebooted and still got the warning...

So I went ahead and entered the registry string (using "Explorer" with a capital "E") and it correctly added it to my registry as:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\Microsoft\\Window s\\Cu rrentVersion\\explorer\\BitBucket\\V

It now works without any warning, so it looks like both of these parts need to be confirmed/configured correctly (registry and recycle bin).

The other string: (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\Wow6432Node\\Mic rosoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\BitBucket\\V) is still in the registry. I don't know why Flexraid mistakenly put it there in the first place.

I went ahead and deleted the additional Wow6432Node and all folders within it, restarted and everything appears to be working.

No, I do a commercial removal and the transfer the recording to the server. I toyed with the whole iSCSI thing but soon bailed as it wasn't very intuitive.

I think what happens here is that since the individual drives are tied to the desktop Recycle Bin in WHS 2011 you need to tell them not to move deleted data to the OS/Desktop Recycle Bin. I think this goes into an area where FlexRaid recognizes its there but can't add it to the parity drive.

One of my drives had 21GB in the internal recycle bin that I deleted even though there was nothing in the desktop recycle bin. I think this confirms my theory.

From what I have read I think the steps I added in the guide will fix this. I am rebuilding the array now and will see if I get any errors. Otherwise I haven't read anything that this is a big deal either way but its nice to not have messages.

Thanks for the update- I'm curious to see if you still get the warning without adding the registry key in the right place (unless you already have it there).

Mine is already there. For the life of me I can't remember if I put it there or not.

That happens when you are perpetually building, testing, writing, tweaking, etc.

Gotcha, you should be good to go then.

How do you handle Windows Update in your WHS/Flexraid setup? I set mine to update automatically at 1am and then set all the Flexraid Update/Verify/etc. at the same times you had listed in your guide. Do you think it's better to have Windows update on manual?

I am also testing transferring over data from my NAS and was trying out Teracopy as I have seen it recommended. However, I am getting half the transfer rate as the regular windows service. Teracopy gives me about 40mb/s and windows about 80mb/s. That's a pretty big difference. I only recently heard about Teracopy, but if this is how it performs I would rather stick with Windows. I always thought that Windows would let me know if something didn't get transferred correctly, is this not the case?

I don't use Teracopy.

I use manual install on all my Windows Updates.

Yeah, I just have an HTPC right now. I toyed with idea if building a WHS 2011 server and having all
my HDDs on there but i was told WMC will not allow you to save RecordedTV to a network location, only a local HDD. So it defeated the idea of moving my HDDs out of the HTPC. But I should be okay as my HTPC case can accommodate 4 total HDDs along with my SSD and bluray drive. So right now I have 2 2Tb seagates. I can eventually have 4 4Tb HDDs for 16Tb total in the HTPC.
I share all my folders in the HTPC in my Homegroup and set my libraries on my other PC and laptop to a folder on the HTPC, so my HTPC basically is a server already.
The only thing I am worried about is I do not have any kind of raid setup. I backup important docs to an external HDD, but I wish I had a server that had 2 copies (original and raid backup) of ALL my files in case of a HDD crash.

And on the topic of comskip. I use MCEBuddy 2.1.9 to convert my wtv shows to mkv and commercial removal.
I've found that the last 2 seconds of the show prior to a commercial get cut out along with the commercial.
I've been tweaking the config.ini file for days now in comskip, but trade one nuisance for another.

Anyone have a solid comskip.ini file for USA broadcasts that does a good job of cutting commercials but not taking some of the show with it!

Finished rebuilding the parity drive. No issues or errors at all.

I am actually just using one of these -->http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ard-_-59107052

With flexraid + pooling, whs2011 across the following 4x2TB of data drives and two external 3TB USB drives as my parity drives. I plan to extend so I have a 1:1 mirror at some point, but for now it's just for video and music..my biggest gripe with the turion microserver is its not that great for serving up media. I found running plex very intensive even after adding 8GB of memory. Give flexraid a try, I struggled at first but with help from the forum it's been fantastic.

I have this post in an old thread about TV Show renaming and folder organizing but am not getting any response. I set up Sickbeard and SABnzbd according to the guide. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Consider using my new server guides. I try to get rid of that struggle.

I have actually found two things that can impact this.

1) get the donors version..pretty solid now
2) try using 43,0r 47. If 47 is too much try 43. I record mostbroadcasts seamless

Woot has the SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime Tuner

1 SiliconDust HDHR3-CC HDHomeRun Prime 3-Tuner Network TV Tuner

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 32- or 64-bit for $80 + free shipping
SnaggStuff offers the OEM Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 32-bit 1-User, model no. FQC-00730, for $79.99 with free shipping. Outside of the price below, it's the lowest total price we could find by $5.

A close price is Trinity Software Distribution's $80.75 via coupon code "FACETWIT5" with free shipping.

SnaggStuff also offers the OEM Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 1-User, model no. FQC-00765, for $79.99 with free shipping. That's another price low by $5.

I use one of these running unRAID and love it. Still have 1 slot open. In the end it will have a total of 6 drives. 1 parity/1 running apps/4 data drives.

Sometimes that HP is on sale at Newegg. It used to be like almost once a month it would be listed at around $249 with extra ram or hard drive or whs2011. I got mine back in feb from macmall for $199.

I guess the version with MCEBuddy is not the donor version?? I will look into that.

I just assembled the hardware for my first HTPC. I have a Gigabyte Z68 MOBO along with the paid guides. I couldn't find any reference to the BIOS settings for this board (just the ASROCK), but I realize it's impossible for Assassin to cover all of the combinations.

Can anyone point me to a guide showing me how to set up the BOIS for this board?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I doubt there is going to be any specific guide anywhere for your motherboard.

I would use your manual as your guide and ask questions here when they arise.
