The folder needs to be named exactly like it is on IMDB. Any difference and it won't catch it.

I would recommend http://www.mediacentermaster.com/ instead to get your metadata. It will save the images in the folder of the movie instead of in the cache of mediabrowser.

^and MCM will rename your folders to the proper format.

Ok so I have my fist Hard drive and Case. Just purchased the ASUS P8H67-M and the I3-2100 and I am tapped right now so have to wait until next month to start with more parts. I have a quick question for the HTPC gurus on this thread. Power Supplies.. I know next to nothing about what I need. I am going to have a Blu-Ray Drive, (4) 3tb Hard drives and a SSD or 320 GB HD for my Boot Drive. My Case is the Silverstone GD06. What sort of power supply do I need to run all of that stuff? Like I said I have added one optical and one hard drive to my current office PC and just tapped into the Molex power supply so I am totally clueless about a build.

I think assassin has a good review of power supplies on the first page.

380-450 watt PSU will be plenty.

The average i3 2100 system with the CPU, RAM, 1 hard drive, 1 optical drive is going to draw about 100 watts at max use.

Add another 30-40 watts for a few more hard drives and you should have plenty of power.

This is a pretty good calculator that joeydrunk sent me a few days ago. I would check your system at about 50% cpu utilization as it will likely run less than that.

http://www.antec.outervision.com/PSUEngine

When I plugged everything in that you are using the calculator gave me a system use of about 175 watts.

Ok mcm sounds like a good idea. Also does anyone know how I can test my cd-rom speeds. I have the lg wh10ls30 and I want to remove the riplock but I have no clue if it is done right or not because I am not sure what speed I should be getting. I just used makemkv to rip Incredibles dvd and it was running at like 9mbps. Last night I used dvdfab to rip Beauty and the Beast BR to folders with mini iso and it was going at 23mbps. Also update I got some metadata for the files in mb, I have the pearl theme installed but It doesn't look as good as assasins does the poster art is whitewashed and you can hardly see it. Also what does the coverart plugin do? I didn't install it and I still have what looks like coverart to me?

Thanks.. What about connectors and the what comes off of the power supply. Are they built to handle multiple connector types like that. I know that the supply that I have on my Office PC has the wite molex adaptors all over the place. I just did not understand if a new build uses that same type of adaptors.

The default Pearl color scheme is white... and it is VERY white. If you go into the settings (click the little wrench icon in the upper right corner when you first open MB), there is a tab for each theme you have installed. Go to the Pearl theme options and select another Pearl color scheme. For the CoverArt plugin, it adds effects to your movie posters and thumbnails such as DVD/BD cases, reflections, 3D effects, etc.

Here is my setup with the Pearl theme, and you can see CoverArt doing it's thing with case covers around all of my movie posters:

If you install multiple devices internally like 4-8 hard drives, SATA drives, 1-2 optical drives, etc you are going to have to split the SATA connections and/or use molex-to-SATA connections.

The PSU will handle it all just fine.

There is also another new theme from the same creator as Pearl that I have been dying to try. I think it costs about $6.

Its called Lotus.

This is how i have mine set up too... the Pearl white theme is terrible, the dark should be the default in my opinion.

Those do look really cool. I haven't updated in a while because a lot of people lost their watched count. Do they still give you the themes as a trial? Or can you not even try them first.

I like the last shot for tv seasons looks cool.

I think you can try them first.

I haven't had much of a chance lately to try them out but its near the top of my list once I get a chance.

Folders should be named according to themoviedb.org (and thetvdb.com), the default reference for Mediabrowser, not imdb.com (it's a common mistake).
You can use a metadata fetcher app like MCM to make things easier.

You can try them still, I'm on the trial of Pearl but plan to buy it and CoverArt when it expires.

Here's a tip for you frugal types that don't want to pay for the CoverArt plugin:

You can get the exact same effects using StarkCovers. The only difference is CoverArt works automatically in the background and StarkCovers changes the folder.jpg files in each of your folders to a new folder.png with the effects applied.

Good news for all that still want the Rosewill RC-CIX-01 BK case. I contacted Rosewill customer service to see if there was another place I could get one or if they were coming out with a replacement.

The customer service rep. emailed me back that will they are expecting a next shipment "around May". He said to check with Newegg in "Late May".

I really wanted that case so I will wait until then. I just thought I would pass along the news.

Nice build - and a good deal on a case of that quality.

Your bluray drive has a kind of "L" shaped eject button. Did you have any issues getting your case button to interact with the drive eject button?

Newegg has the Rosewill WMC Remote control/Rcvr RRC-127 for Win 7 for $16.99 with promo code EMCKFJF23 and free shipping.

I just ordered one and the Win7 family pack to match with my case (Silverstone GD06) and PSU (Silverstone Strider Plus 500) and short cable set.

Slowly but surely I will have my rig...

Should it be hard to press the lever back when installing the CPU? I have double checked and the CPU is placed properly but when I lower the load plate and place it under the shoulder screw I would have to physically force the arm to lower. I dont want to break anything so I thought I'd ask before I try anything else.

Yes, there is some tension there that is required to install the CPU.

I was FREAKING out when I did this 2 days ago. This and being ultra paranoid about static shock were the 2 biggest hurdles I had to jump through.

I kept saying, I can't have to push this hard, I can hear the plastic straining, I am going to have a $650 paper weight, AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!.

But, it did need to be firmly pushed in to place. My new HTPC is up and running.

Thanks, I like it so far. Only been up and running since last night. I will probably add another fan or 2 at some point.

It does have a "L" shaped button. The Zalman eject button has to be aligned or every movement opens/closes the bluray. I just had to find the perfect location before screwing everything down. Works great.

Bye-the-way, the case is awesome, all aluminum and looks cool. It does not match my other black components, but I kind of like that it is different - stands out. I also have to get the software that came with it installed so the front panel and remote works. That will be tonight.

I'm in the process of building with a Thermaltake DH202 using that same BD drive, and I can tell you it does not line up. I plan to remove the drive and see what needs to be done, but it doesn't look good since the drive needs to be lowered in its mounting. Raising the drive could be acheived by drilling new holes, lowering is going to require cutting or bending the tabs on the drive cage and drilling new holes. Also, this drive is NOISY! I'm stuck with it however. La de da.
