Hey everyone, I was planning on buying a HTIB soon, I was looking for one around $300. I have a crap RCA system right now that I got off craigslist. Every channel has died on my except sub and front left. I know the speakers still work because I've tried them in the left channel. On top of that, the cable company is making us use these new mini boxes, and it puts out half the channels in mono, and the sound is in the right speaker. So for those channels, I don't get any audio at all... Anyway, I was originally wanting to just get a new receiver and use these speakers, but I read that these are 4 ohm speakers, and that would hurt most receivers since standard receivers work on 8 ohms. First question: Is this true? If I do need to start over, should I get a HTIB or buy speakers and receiver separate. I really liked the Onkyo HT-S3300, but I'd kind of like the option of 7.1 speakers if I get the receiver separately. Any suggestions on the best $300 HTIB if that is the best route?
