Will this work? Popcorn Hour--Please help

Thread Starter
I have a dual boot Mac and a legally owned copy of Goodfellas. Using the Windows partition, I made a backup of the movie using AnyDVD and TSMuxer into an m2ts format.

I can play the movie just fine with PowerDVD.

I boot into the Mac OS (which I want to use as a media server) and copy the file from Bootcamp to an external hard drive formatted in HFS.

I cannot play the movie using VLC (nor can I do this in Windows). Every software I tried will not play the m2ts on the Mac.

My main question is that I am very interested in getting Popcorn Hour C-200 but I don't want to spend the money to find out it also won't play my m2ts from myiHome on my Mac.

Does anyone have experience with this or know if it will work. I'm pretty sure the m2ts is fine as it plays wonderfully from Power DVD in windows.

Thanks

give the forums over at Networked Media Tank a look. those are the official forums for popcorn hour products, and extremely helpful. i'd imagine this topic has been discussed there.

I wouldn't be so sure, both Plex and VLC play .m2ts just fine in OS X and don't forget, you said you can't play that file back with VLC in Windows; since you are a very inexperienced ripper, I'd first rip more discs and re-examine that process.

Or use MakeMKV as most of us do for blu-rays.
