Can't play Lord of the Rings DVD-Audio with Foobar

Greetings:

I just bought LOTR Complete Recordings, each album includes a DVD-Audio that has stereo and 5.1 sound in both Dolby Digital and MLP.

I have no problems playing Dolby Digital mix with TMT or any DVD player, my problems comes when I try to play MLP with Foobar. I already downloaded the DVD-Audio plugin, so can somebody give me a hand with this and tell me what else do I need.

Thanks guys.

I'm not sure, but you may also want to do a search in the "Surround Music Formats" section of AVS.

I am also using Foobar and the DVD-A plugin with my Ati 5450 card and Asus Xonar HDAV soundcard. Everything is connected via hdmi to my receiver.

Are you connected via hdmi?

Open up Foobar and select "Open" file(not "open CD") You should be able to see all the "file structures" like:
[FELLOWSHIPOFTHERING #01] Lf-Rf-Ls-Rs 24/48000 + C-LFE 24/48000

I am listening to this via Foobar as we speak just to verify your concerns.

I was doing that before posting and I could see the file structures as you mentioned in both 5.1 and stereo, but when I press play them nothing happen. I also try playing Creative DVD-Audio Demo disc (bundled with an old Soundblaster card) and this one played perfectly, so as you can see I'm more confused now.

Just to be sure, what version of Foobar you use?? and what is the version of the DVD-A plugin??

I think I got it. According to this guy http://amplioaudio.blogspot.com/2010...with-your.html I need to shut down CSS protection programs (AnyDVD HD included) before playing DVD-A with CPPM protection, I'll try it tonight and let you know.

Yeah it work like charm, now I have another question, what would be the difference if I activate in the DSP manager the DVD-Audio Watermark detector?

No difference in sound quality. The watermark detector just lets you know if the original MLPs were watermarked. If you try to author a new DVD-A and try playing back on a DVD-A player with watermark protection enabled, they won't play on those DVD-A players. When you play these files from your PC it doesn't matter.
