PC to Magnavox

Connected my desktop (via VGA) to a Magnavox LCD using a 'VGA to HDMI converter box.' A box appears on screen reading "format not supported." Tried different resolutions to no avail. Any input or alternate methods? (PC has only VGA out, TV only HDMI in)

What vga to hdmi box are you using? Normally that just wont work, the two are completely different connections.

Also, what resolution is your vga output set to? Most likely it will have to be set to 1280x720 or 1920x1080.

its just a cheap-o i ordered from ebay. I got it to work at 640x480 but it looks horrific
