Sharp is setting 5K price point for full LD 70 incher. Hard to see how Sammy can keep 6K for 65".

Bring it on, IMHO as long as the quality is good the cheaper the better

No MSRP for the D8000 yet?

Thanks for the prices but interested specifically in the 65" set (trying to decide if i should return my current problem plagued 65" for the 2011 set).

Anyone see specs on the dimensions for the D8000 series?

I'm not going to buy any samsung TVs in future.

I bought samsung 3DLED 40C7000, which suffers from huge crosstalk.

Now I know that the firmware release 1026 has improved to reduce the crosstalk but its not made available worldwide. At least its not available in India.

Indian 40C7000 are 200Hz and with a slight different features than US/UK versions. In Indian site they have not posted 1026 firmware update and now beginning 2011, the download link for this TV is removed from samsung Indian site.

Now i'm struck with a TV, with which watching in 2D is better than watching a movie in 3D (with all those huge crosstalk).

Samsung sucks in support.

If this is the level of support for Indian market from samsung then I'll not buy any samsung TVs ever again....

I've only been following this whole TV thing the last few months, so am I to assume that those prices that icdedppl kindly posted will be a few hundred dollars lower in stores and online right from the get-go, since it's the MSRP? Or do they tend to charge full price at first and see who bites?

on day 1 if you walk in to best buy or something, you will usually pay msrp, but online retailers will usually sell them for less on day 1.

How does this compare to last years MSRP, is it slightly lower?

If I had to take a stab at the 60 and 65 in D8000 pricing based on this I would guess the 60 would be around $4500 and the 65 at $5500 but that is a shot in the dark.

any info on the 65" LED weight or the 64" plasma's weight and dimensions?

they were kinda pushing the d7000 over the d8000, the guy even said most people like the d7000 over the d8000. Brings back memories, I was trying to find a c8000 last year at BB. The sales rep kept trying to push the c7000 on me even tho I clearly stated I wanted the c8000. I just a thought it was funny, why not talk about the micro dimming n how much better the d8000 is suppose to be?

I noticed it too. Probably done by Samsung USA.
