True, but the leap they took from 2010 to 2011 seems bigger then previous years. I got my c8000 and plan on getting a d8000 but I will have to buy new 3d glasses because they're not compatible. I don't mind too much its the price you pay for being an early adopter. My point really was 2011 TVs look much better then 2010 TVs so they are worth the wait to me.

I will be in the market for a 3d plasma around March and I was not sure if I would try to get a good deal on a 2010 c7000 or wait for the 2011 D's. After coming to this site and viewing all the info on the new upgrades for this year there is no doubt in my mind that I will go for the 2011 line. The biggest reason for me is because of the non-backward compatible superior blue tooth eye glasses. I just hope that release prices do not bum me out to much, but with the state of the over all economy and consumers a little shy about spending big for toys I do not think I have to worry to much. 59 or 65 D7000 for me.

Wow I hope that you are wrong. Are you talking plasma? I just realized that I might be in the wrong forum but for what it is worth right now I can get a shrek bundle kit with BDC6900 player and PN63C7000 for $2899 and $2999.US for a 63C8000 ala carte. Maybe the price will drop a little more when they start getting the new stock. I will also need two or three more pairs of glasses. I guess time will tell. I am hoping to find a price on the PN59D7000 that is in my range when they come out. After all I have learned on this site about the advanced technology of the new models I know I should wait . It kind off sucks to know to much about the pros and cons of buying old vs new top of the line products when you are not wealthy enough to just buy new every new model year!

I've read that the D550 will be 120Hz vs last year's 60Hz C550, can anyone confirm this to be true?

Finally will the C750 be returning this year in the form of a D750?

I was checking in with one of the online retailers I have bought AV stuff from in the past and he said that what he is hearing from Samsung right now is that the 60 and 65" D8000s will not be out until April. This was about what I was expecting. I asked him to keep me in the loop so I will post whatever else I find out.

I can't believe they didn't show this at CES..............

A- I would prefer this over the stupid iPhone wannabe they were showing at CES included with the D8000 series

B- I am bummed these remotes are going bluetooth. This is really going to mess with the harmony remotes. Hopefully logitech will put something out that allows the harmony to communicate with these TVs. I really do not want to have to have more than one remote around.

Alto the touch remote is much more cooler, this is more practical. They may not have shown it because they were focusing on the touch remote. they also weren't sure if the D8000 would come with a normal remote or not, this my even be the remote to the other 7,6 series. I don't think they ever really showed a close up of the 6 or 7 series remotes. The least they could do is sell it separately.

Personally I will probably just use their iOS app for most things. It would be nice if they put out a good looking dedicated iPad app too. I think the one they have now is just a general one built for the iPhone/iPod Touch

Wouldn't the Harmony PS3 adapter work for other BT devices as well? Such as Samsung or Visio TVs who support BT remotes. Anyone tried that?

I use the ipod app on my c8000, works well enough. I don't see why they couldn't upgrade the app to support dual video and other features. I do want to try out the new touch remote, I was going to buy the current touch remote until I found out it didn't support all the video features Of the c9000 on the c8000. I think they will have an upgraded app for the samsung tab but who knows if it will make its way to Ipod/Ipad n other non samsung devices.

The Harmony PS3 adapter works because the PS3 knows how to pair with it. Whether it works for anything else is another matter.

As for Harmony vs. the Samsung monstrosity, I tend to agree about one remote, but the Harmony for all it's strength has no credible way of doing a keyboard. That means for searching, you are back to the onscreen keyboard. Many of us tolerate that for various reasons but I doubt many of us like it. I sure don't. That said, the Samsung remote shown above is a monstrosity and would have zero chance of replacing my Harmony.

Logitech, I presume you are already on this, but some sort of slide-keyboard-type Harmony is necessary.

Agreed, I would be fine with harmony for most functions and break out my iPhone when I need text input.

I would like a harmony like the TiVo slide remote. That would be very convent

I would not prefer the "iphone"-alike remote.
I was reading reviews online and most, if not all of them gave negative ratings.
The battery life would last for one day and it was not ergonomically designed for practical use whatsoever.
Though, perhaps they changed a few things with this new revision, but I doubt any better outcomes from it.

Anyone have any idea how much these new models will retail for this year??

I'm looking to purchase a new TV for the bedroom and really like the looks of the new Samsung UN32D6400: 32-inch.....particulary because it has 120Hz (its hard to find a 32 inch that has it).

Should I just bite the bullet and purchase last years LG led 32 inch which has 120 Hz....I can get it for a decent price or should I wait on the new Samsung and hope it falls within my budget?? I dont really know much about TVs or how the usually retail for.

I just found a spot on the net that has the un55d8000 as a April release with a pricetag of $1899 which I'm guessing is probably not realistic or accurate really. Kinda wonder why I'd really even post it on here, I'm guessing $2999 or maybe up to as far as $3699 is much closer to the truth. I'm so anxious to find out info on this TV that I search for it every day after work to see if Samsung will let us in on any info. I'm losing my job due to a plant shutdown and this baby is gonna be my pick me up unless it's too expensive. If anyone out there finds out any info be sure to post is as soon as you can.

on this thread they posted the prices of the 2011 d series. The un55d8000 is $3599.99, march/april is about the time frame for release.

But again that was posted over a week ago by a guy who were not sure is a credible source. He says he works as a Samsung reseller store or something. I called Samsung last week and they said that prices have absolutely not been released at that point, all the info they'd give for any of the 2011 tv was that more info would be available "soon". I'm waiting for that "soon" to arrive but not very patiently. Like I said I check the net more than once daily in case that "soon" has arrived. I'm guessing the other guys pricing area is close but I'm looking for the sure thing from Samsung itself.

So in review...you posted pricing that you think is probably wrong...you are doubtful of the pricing from another poster that seems more realistic, and your looking for the "sure thing" pricing while at the same time posting pricing from a "spot on the net" for a product thats release date is 2 months away?

sony has released its UK prices, so maybe samsung wont be too far behind. Can't be sure really but they did say the march/april time frame for release. Your best bet is to assume last years prices+. But as always you will be able to find better deals online. I don't really know anything for sure, I too would like a solid date and price so I can order my d8000 too. I would at least like more in depth look review, which.co.uk already has a tv on hand from samsung. They already did a quick look and promise a full review but didn't give a time frame when it would be available, my guess withend a week of the release of the tvs to market.

so samsung is definitely releasing a 65" D8000 model this year? I was unsure based on all the info I saw at CES if the LED line stopped at 60" and the new plasma line went up to 64" is there pricing for the 65" yet? Any specs as far as weight and depth?

All I know is what the Samsung rep told me in their booth. Everything he said sounded like 65 was coming and it would be in more ready supply than last year

I can see some pricing for D7000 & D8000 for upto 55" posted in this thread; is there any talk of any kind of pricing/availability for the > 55" D7000's & D8000's? Particularly the 64" ~ 65"?

Which is what they said, for sure. Then again, they couldn't manage to bring a single one to CES.

I'm skeptical it'll be in great supply this year, but I tend to believe it'll be in much better supply than last year.

I would love to get a 65" but I am not going to hold my breath. If the 60" comes out earlier and the price is right I may pull the trigger

hell all I want is the 55" but I'm starting to see more and more issues everywhere about Samsung TV's and input lag. I game some and it would be a major issue for me if the new UN55D8000 has significant input lag like last years models. I dont know that from personal experience but there's a lot written on here about it in the input lag area specifically saying that Samsung is the worst for gaming due to the input lag. I cannot really find any specific un55C8000 model complaints to compare with this years un55D8000 but I'm guessing there are some here somewhere. Any one else have experience with this issue or know if Samsung has addressed the lag issue
