I've noticed (despite a plasma's best efforts) that no matter what you do. If you overall environmental is going to be bright. Plasma isn't the way to go. PQ is pretty much cut in half in a bright room.

Honestly it was a nice set. My friend was able to demo one in his house and I checked it out. At first I was like "OMG those black lvls are horrible!" but thats because it was setup way, way wrong. After about 30 minutes or so of tinkering I got it to look much better. First thing I noticed was it actually looked pretty good. Just not a fan of the brushed steel look on the stand. It was thin for a full array, but what isnt compared to my XBR8? Good details, impressive blacks, good color reproduction. Why didnt I pull the trigger?
Off angle viewing was worse then my XBR8, not a fan of the gloss screens, colors not as good as my display's, and cost. I couldnt justify spending the cash on it when it wasnt enough of an improvement over my set. If I didnt have my XBR8 i might have gotten one, makes the top 3 of 50" + sets ide consider purchasing...after the 55" XBR8 and the last Kuro elite ...
Shrug, I think the "plasma posts" were relevant here, even if this might not be the perfect thread for them. Certainly as relevant as bringing up some LG prototype that won't be made a production model for years, if ever.
Anyway, as for Samsung, the proof of the pudding is in the 65s to me. I look forward to Chris letting us know those are in.
