Sony BRAVIA 2011 Line Up - Page 26

Thanks for the replies. Sorry I forgot to mention I am replacing a projection 46E2000. Would that affect the models that would be available to me though? I just thought it would affect the price that they offered me the replacement.

If Sony made an offer , you can make a counteroffer for what ever model you want.

They would just deduct the value of your present tv towards a newer model.

Atleast that is the way I think it would { should } work.

Best of luck to you !

This is my understanding as well after talking to the CSR. The problem is there are so many models I don't know which to choose.

I was told the glasses are available already in stores. They're probably trying to get rid of back stock online I would think...

Do you have a part number or link ?

This doesn't say they are being sold in stores; it's just a post about them, similar to the one SonyInsider put out.

The fact that the 2010 model is no longer available online is a good indicator that they will start selling the 2011 model.

Went to the sony story today and purchased the 55 inch 929. They still didnt have it on display in the store. And they are delivering it from their own person delivery to my apartment.

Should be here soon. Will post on impressions and on any issues soon.

Sony TDG-BR250 now available for preorder from various online stores.

I recently picked up the KDL-BX420 from my local walmart. I realize this is one of the lower end models, but I was impressed by the black levels on this TV. They are inky, but still have great shadow detail.

Also, the 24p true cinema(24hz BD playback) was impressive. This is a 60hz panel, but idk how it is able to show 24 fps without using 3:2 pulldown, but rather a true 24hz playback(maybe an expert on here can explain how it is able to do this). It is incredibly smooth on panning shots with no judder what so ever. So anyone on a budget looking for a great tv I think this would be a great pick up.

Just wanted to share since no one was talking about this model. I hope televisioninfo.com does a detailed review of this model because I'd love to see the numbers on it.

Not sure but check the features on a EX700. I think all the series above EX have glossy screens.

Can you tell me if the "Anti-Glare" coating ( if any ) on the XBR929 is on the front of the glass or back of the glass ?

If it is on the back , that would make for very easy cleaning

Thanks ,

2011 glasses are up on sony website but they only have the kids size, it is a 2 pack and looks like a good deal

That is a very good price for rechargeable glasses especially considering the 2010 battery powered were $150 a piece.

There is apparently some contradictory info about the model numbers for the 2011 glasses. The UK Sony site lists BR250 as the adult and BR200 as the "kids" size, while some other internet sites are are reporting the reverse. I'm assuming the UK site is correct and have ordered one of these double-packs of the TDG-BR250's. It's definitely a better deal than the 2010 models. Thanks Sony!!

Adult and child are for sale on the Sony Canada site now!

I did a quick search for TDG-BR250's and the amazonians have them for xxx.
I can't check out the listing... It's blocked here at my place of business.

Not sure if we can talk pricing or give exact numbers, but Amazon's listing is for one pair only. Sony is selling two pairs for the price they have listed. Not a bad deal. Unfortunately, my gf wants the white ones (girls ).
Oops, forgot about the price talk. Thanks for the heads-up.
these are the specs on sonystyle for the BR250:
Dimensions (Approx.) : 6 7/8 x 1 3/4 x 7 3/8" (174 x 44 x 185mm)
Weight (Approx.) : 2.1 oz (59g)

sound like the adults? Are these the 2011 or 2010 model?

Sony online chat told me that the BR200 is a Canada model and BR250 is US.
But he had no information on adult vs child size like some google info says the BR200 is for adult.

Not sure why Canada would have diff model # than US when the TVs use the same model #s?

Hi One reason I chose my 50a10( which now has the blue blob) was for the low reflection matte screen as I have large windows at a 45 to the tv.I am unable to find anything in features or specs that describe the new screens as being matte or glossy. Are all screens low reflection or should I stay with matte? How do I know which is matte or glossy? HELP.Thx (Closing the drapes is not an option)
