Netflix support sites show that out of the 3, only the PS3 supports 1080p and has the latest Netflix app. The netflix site says Chromecast also supports 1080p but I tried it a few days ago and did not look as good as the PS3. I will try it again tonight.
I think I have pass through for the PS3 and others, to allow the projector to scale and make it a fare comparison.
I think Reddice also commented that the PS3 has a large(larger) buffer and it is also apparent. It starts playing much faster than the Oppo.
I have FiOs and thus, do not have Super HD. I blame Netflix for trying to impose their terms. My Fios speeds are 80/35 and I am sure it can handle anything Netflix wants to throw at it, but its business terms.
I am reading other people enjoying good PQ with other bluray players from Sony/Panny even an LG is mentioned. I have to say I am disappointed the Oppo93 ($400!) has not updated its interface and only goes to 720p. It is supposed to be a premium brand. I know the new Oppos do, but I am not going around shelling $400 every other year on a new disc player. I prefer to spend that cash on better/more amplifiers and better projectors.
My brothers have Dune devices and similar 90+" screens and claim excellent Netflix support and you can throw any type of file at them. I may bite the bullet and also join the Dune club. I am going down south to visit them and will run the netflix example streams to report what dune does with netflix.
