You may connect a powered sub-woofer to the Vizio. However, the sub-woofer should have a variable output to match volume levels with the soundbar. The VSB 200 is basically a two-channel device but simulates 5.1 and does a decent job of it.
Very few soundbars do true 5.1 and none that I know of will do 7.1.
The VSB 200 is very efficient and can fill a very large room with good clean sound. Voices are quite clear and dynamics are very good.
This is a real sleeper of a bargain at the current prices on-line and at Wal-Mart and Costco.
