Robert Zohn spoke to a Sammy spokesman (perhaps an engineer) who said that the Cinema Smooth bug was fixed.

I'm also curious about the motion judder canceler. The biggest gripe I had about last year's models were the inability to adjust blur/dejudder like you can on their LCD counterparts. If they include this new feature, and it's implemented well along with fixing the Cinema Smooth bug then by God it would be a day one purchase for me (assuming I knew).

If true, there is no reason to get a Panny!

Do they even send engineers to CES? My impression is that they're all marketing reps.

Assuming the subfield refresh rate is the same for 60 and 50 Hz sources (so either 10 or 12 subfields/frame @ 600 Hz), I still can't grasp why there is an MLL difference. Unless something funky is being done with how those subfields are weighted/compiled, they're still being pulsed at the same frequency.

oled display on the touchscreen remote or LCD ?
Will this remote come with only the 8000 or also with the 6500 series ?
When not, will it be possible to buy that remote separatly ?

It's my understanding that the remote comes only with the D8000.

Looks like Samsung's new Touch remote is bundled with the only D8000 range for plasma/lcd.

Will the 7000 come in 64" or top at 59" like the 6500?

Still researching new info...but purchase 50C6500 now at good deal or wait for D6500? Any significant increase in pic quality or features? C version now or wait on new D model?

C6500 blacks are .008
D6500 blacks are .004 reportedly from CNET

I know that the D7000 has basically the same bezel as the D8000, but is in a dark finish instead (thankfully). Does anyone know if it also has the "spider stand" from the D8000 or is a platform style like the D6500? I've only seen pictures of the D7000 wall mounted.

Well good thing I held out. I see a Samsung PN64D8000: 64-inch in my future for sure. Was going to pick up a PN63C8000 this past weekend but decided to wait and see what CES had in store. Hopefully the prices of the new units will be reasonable.

Square base for both D7000 and D6500. Brushed black for the former, brushed steel for the later -- pics in the first post.

There is a vid of a Samsung rep that said prices will atleast stay the same. Not higher.

Purchased a PN50C8000 around Christmas. Cant hear any buzzing, but I do get a blink while watching espn 3D. Also have had glasses lose sync during a 3D blu ray and quite a bit during call of duty on 360.

So return it and wait till spring for new version with what I am assuming are better syncing glasses or will I be getting the same results from the newer sets? Will the newer glasses work with this TV?

If I were you I would return it. You will get twice as deep blacks, possibly buzzing fixed, cinema smooth has been fixed, smaller bezels. Massive improvements.

True, but the new sets will sell much closer to their msrp's vs the older sets. I too wanted to wait but today I bought a 63c8000 for $2429 with the blu-ray player and 3d kit. I would love the new d series but I doubt I will get a price like that for at least another 6 months, and I've waited long enough. I am sick of my 7 year old 47" CRT rptv...

Any pics of the D5x0 series yet?

Buzzing not an issue as of yet. Deeper blacks are cool, but what I am really concerned with is the quality of 3D. Will the Bluetooth set and glasses be a big improvement? And lastly how long do you think I would have to wait? I didnt really need the blu ray player and not the biggest fan of the Shrek movies so I would be OK paying the same $1799 for just the TV.

Thoughts?

If price is an issue you may have to wait till JULY for good discounts. Its your decision.

Now who told you twice as deep blacks and cinema smooth fixed? Marketing reps at CES? Right...

I'll most likely be picking up a D8000 upon launch but let's wait for confirmation before getting excited.

Then again... SCREW IT. Hype is what this thread's all about ain't it? .004 ml would be awesome to say the least, and I'm sure Sammy will hit it and remain there unlike someone else we know. The Cinema Smooth bug really needs fixing. Also having adjustable dejudder would seal the deal for me.
