I am looking for a media player that can stream content from my network. My wife needs to be able to access all my music and movie files while I am away. Those are stored in various NAS totaling 6TBwhich operates 24/7. It should be easy to browse and find what she wants preferably with nice graphics.
Requirements
1. Browse fast the albums with album art.
2. Play mkv without stuttering and with subtitles and dts/ac3 sound
3. Play mp3, flac
4. Easy interface so my wife can find the albums
Desired
1. Some search function
Features like wireless, 7.1 audio formats, usb, blu ray, internet radioetc are not important.
I read countless messages but as everyone uses it for different tasks it is hard for me to see what is the best one for the above specific task.
I can implement somewhat the above using HTPC/XMBC but I would like to explore the possibility of a simpler solution through standalone streamer. Thanks in advance!!
