cant wait to read your impressions
any words on final worldwide release date of the qumi?
I think he said the release was going to be pushed back 2 weeks. If I get an update I'll post it here.
Any word on the noise. Surely its not 44 db.

http://www.aboutprojectors.com/news/...r-coming-soon/

so i guess China will get first dibbs on the qumi later this month and worldwide "SOMETIME" in May. Why can't it be released all at the same time.

Vivitek on facebook

"The Qumi will have focus capabilities; as for pre-order ship dates, it all depends on when the retailers get the units, the U.S. shipping schedule is currently June (unfortunately, we don't have more information than that)"
Hmm, so by the time Vivitek releases the Qumi LG will be releasing its "cousin", the model HW300T; I wonder if such timing will put some pressure on LG to lower its msrp, which i believe has been pegged at around $800.
It appears that the main difference between the Qumi and the HW300T is that the latter has DLNA and built-in HDTV tuner, perhaps even bluetooth; For those of us who don't need such extra "frills" it's great to have another option.
Bring on all competition...

Does the qumi support side by side 3d for the PS3 or is it just checkerboard.
Oh and by the way, is there any 3d adapter for dlp projectors that convert sequential to checkerboard
post #158 of 2167
I hope this projector lives up to the hype.
My old projector's lamp hours have just gone past it's "max hours" so i'm living on borrowed time right now.
I'm quite looking forward to the jump from 800x600 to 720p but i'm only planning to use it on a 76" or so screen like I have now. I sit fairly close so it should be big enough.
Vivitek - don't disappoint us all!

Morning all

I was checking out the various Vivitek sites (various countries) and came across this.

Why does Europe get a better warranty than everyone else, check for yourself.

Link for Europe http://www.vivitek.co.uk/v_display_c...ubcategory_id=

Link for USA http://www.vivitekusa.com/v_display_...ubcategory_id=

Why do they only offer us 1 year yet in Europe it is 3 years?? Hmm

Just a boring morning

AFM
-actually they used to offer even more on DLP chip, 5 years is norm.
I would be happy to know when this Unit comes to german stores.

And I cant wait to know if this unit limits focus or not. Because my HS200G has a focus limit @ 130" (LG says 80").

I really can acclimate me at small Lumes at big Screen and therefor I hope the 90" is just a recommendation and no physical limit.
It has"protection"

Protective Rubber Case

11 1/2 feet for a 100 inch screen probably more like 14 .the fixed zoom stuff is always longer from what I have seen.
Has anyone confirmed if it has focusing abilities? Every one of these LED projectors I have tried out has had edge issues, I'm hoping this one is different.

Nothing that we already don't know but hey something is something. I wonder if theyre using the Qumi to do the presentation.
at 4:30 in the video " I can run up to 1080p, full HD resolution on this small product"

Did I hear that right?
Full HD resolution on the Qumi?

My question now is the Qumi capable of 1080p OUTPUT when connected via mini HDMI cable to a PS3 ?

If the Qumi does 1080p then hey this product just went up several notches to the ranges of ME want this!! and must have, now!!!
No, this means that it will accept 1080p input. It should be able to accept many different resolutions, but it will only output it's native resolution.
Ahhh ok.
Still a very cool device.
Want now, patience, patience.
It seems like this projector cannot get here soon enough! I am just hoping that BB carries these so I can take advantage of the zero interest.
In the video @ 3:30

The pitchman essentially admits that the 3D feature will be useless at 300lumens.

His Cheeky Monkey grin tells me that HE completely believes this feature to be a joke.

I know this has been pointed out as an obvoius thing on these forums, but for me at least this now makes it official.

3D on the Qumi should not be a deciding factor.

Nonetheless, at $499 it remains a very attractive offering.

The Qumi may well become the "iPOD" of the projector world.
I could have told ya that. Some people in hhis thread insist on disagreeing with me though.

Good project maybe without 3d though. They just it it on the box for marketing, and looking around, it appears to work.
It is for 'sharing' so 3D will work at 'sharing sizes' i.e. at 30" it wil work.
I have a 110 lumen PJ and a 50 lumen optoma so 3d at 150 lumens(lumens halved buy dlp link)will work.
Actually the reduction in lightoutput is 84/86 percent, perceived lichtreduction is about 50%.
Ya you don't just split the lumens in half. You don't know what you are missing with 50 lumens btw.
yah I have all kinds of PJ,S some past 3000lumens
post #177 of 2167
I have been doing dlp link and nvidia 3d with a 2500 lumen viewsonic.
Hmm, does it bother anyone that the warranty on this device is only a year as opposed to LG's offerings which are typically two to three years?
No, those that pay for a lg are paying for the warranty 800x600 for 500$.
Nice! The day i lay my hands on this thing is fast approachig (not fast enough though)
BTW, any info on the mysterious ACER projector!?
