I keep mine in my laptop bag all the time with some favorite movies in MP4 format on a 32GB card. Plug in some headphones and it's great little media player.
For use at home, I am probably going to grab either the Optoma or Acer 500 lumen models. The QUMI works fine on my 142" 2.8HP, but I'd prefer it to be a bit brighter which these larger models should handle fine.

Jason,
I actually have to angle the cardboard for it to mask the light squarely. It's cheap looking but hey, whatever works. I bet a 500 lumen led will give you just the right amount of brightness for your 142" HP screen as I use to have a 110" 2.8 HP and I can actually tell it was alot more than .4 gain brighter than my 2.4 HP or at least to my eyes it appeared to have more gain. I couldn't go over 92" with a 2.4 HP with the qumi and be happy with the brightness. I like you do like a very bright image.
Mike

I did the same thing, built a blackout cloth screen with a wood frame, then framed it with black velvet (actually tru-black screen flok which was more expensive than the BOC). Came out great, my room only allows for an 82" screen but with blackout curtains I have it at almost zero light and the Qumi does very well in that environment. Have fun building your screens, I did
