also is the factory color settings ok? or should i calibrate it.
my computer is a sony vaio z 2011 laptop, so it has the amd radeon 6650 M ithink, not sure if I can do 120hz or 3d off of this.
Ya, the trick I use to play avi or mkv or even any video format is to buy a optoma ml500.
I used sdhc 32gb cards. I tested a external enclosure with 2tb hdd and it worked great, so did my 16gb USB sticks.
It even played 1080p encoded mkv files just fine.
I was impressed. Now I don't need to bring a stupid media player with me, just the projector.
That's one of the reasons I did not go with qumi, cuz mkv was not listed.
But one issue with the ml500 was PDF files. They mostly all worked but some of the more intense ones with manny images on a page did not work. But still a great bright 500 lumens projector. And I love that the power supply is built in.
I was able to measure a draw of 95watts at max settings with idle at home screen,
I'll test and post back hdmi and internal video player power draw measurements.
