MGM Exclusives @ Target now! (Overboard, 4 Weddings & A Funeral...etc)

I picked up Overboard at my local Target today. Nice looking package for $10 (meaning, even the disc has artwork). According to the insert:

DTS-HD MA sound but only 2.0. 50GB disc, AVC encoding at 36MBPS. Region A only.

My wife and I are going to watch it this afternoon.

I freakin' love Honeymoon In Vegas. Cage is hilarious, Sarah Jessica has seldom looked better.

Need to see some screencaps before I pull the trigger.

THE CUTTING EDGE is also apparently one of them.

While I'm thrilled at the prospects of $10 BD catalog titles, the retailer exclusivity deal is a bummer. How did all these come out and not one person knew about them ahead of time? lol. Crazy.

Plus, what is the audio, video quality of these releases??

I was quite pleased with the Overboard transfer. There's some smudginess here and there during the opening credits, plus a bit heavier grain here and there during certain scenes, but overall I think it's a solid transfer. Certainly the best this 24-year old film has ever looked on a home video format.

The DTS-HD MA 2.0 audio is unremarkable. It's thin and flat. But about what I expected given it's only 2.0.

The only bonus material is the Theatrical Trailer (which I didn't watch).

For $9.99, a nice addition to my collection. It's a fun movie, though a bit campier than I remembered it. But that's half the charm.

These titles are apparently NOT part of a national release.

I went to 2 different Targets in the DFW area this AM and neither one of them had heard of any of these titles. I had the clerk check, and they were not shown on their handheld terminals either.

I read on another forum these are supposed to come out in 2 weeks when they 'reset' the media aisles.

Several reports across forums have these discs as YMMV -- some stores have put them out already at least a week (maybe 2) ahead of schedule and some stores have them in the storeroom and will sell them to you if asked (some won't). Many of their systems won;t find it if you search the name, but the stock number shows it in the storeroom.

I'd take all 7 right now if I could find a store to sell them to me. I've hesistated several times to by the Leone Trilogy since I already have TGTBaTU. I have little interest in the Mag7 box, but would love to have the original.

Chick Flix central lately with Cutting Edge, 4 Weddings here and then last weeks release of Hope Floats, A Walk in the Clouds, and Ever After. I have little problem admitting I too like that style of movie. Overboard is fun, Honeymoon in Vegas is certainly watchable.

Anyone else having sync issues with the single disc of Magnificent Seven? I've played it on two players, and I am having a sync issue.

Any idea how long these will remain a Target exclusive? I don't have a Target store in my town so basically I'm screwed.
