I wish I could find deals like this in my area. I do miss em-t-wallitt's posts ... it helped me find a recorder in my area a while back. But glad to see it is just searching fatigue, and nothing worse.

Ran across a couple Panasonics listed at B&H. While they don't fit the title of this thread(neither have a HDD) they are pretty decent non HDD models. Don't ask me how B&H got them but they are listed as 9+ which means they are like new.
'06 ES-15 $69.95
'06 ES-25 $79.95
The ES-25 ads HDMI upconverting, SD card slot and ability to burn DL media(albeit somewhat crippled). Check my signature thread for more info on either model.

Both models are good basic non HDD units, prefect for backing up VHS(with a separate VHS player) if you don't care about editing or adding chapter marks(both of which would require a HDD model).

Wow. Wonder where in the heck they got those from? Wonder what kind of condition they're in? Those are good, old models.

I hope it's not like the Circuit City was here a few years back - the employees used to put their own, old, usually really beat up stuff out on a table and try to sell it.

If B&H rates them at a 9+ condition, then they are almost indistinguishable from new, so that should not be a worry.

For Sale $350.Panasonic DMR-EH75V w/ 2 remote controls,128 page operaters manuel.

recorder is in like new condition (purchased new in 2008) and has been used very little
I mainly used it to digitize my family VHS tapes so both DVD & HDD
have very little hours of use.

Both Hard disk drive and DVD burner are 100% functional.the optical pickup was
recently replaced by a authorised Panasonic repair place in Texas.

I am selling because since the analog to digital switch

The TV guide is inoperatable for me a free over the air viewer if you have cable
the TV guide doe’s work normally.there is a piece of white tape on the DVD door I can take another image w/ it off.

also when the DVD was used it was recording I have a nice BD DVD for playback.

McAllen Texas? Oh, horrors!

For best picture quality I use S-Video and composite line inputs with my Panasonic analog tuner HDD/DVD recorders. I'm satisfied with that picture quality so I'll keep using my 2005 and 2006 vintage Panasonics.

Analog to digital...? For clear QAM or ATSC reception/recording I use Magnavox and Philips HDD/DVD recorders.

Go on Craigslist or ebay and see if you can acquire a Channel Master CM-7000 CECB. The CM-7000 can be controlled by the IR blaster of the EH75 and it has S-Video output. If you are OK with SD, the PQ from the CM-7000 is very good. I used one on my EH85 for 6 months before I got a TiVo HD.

actualley I have a Magnovax analog to digital converter box w/ remote control

I used it for a couple months I did'nt like only having the ability to schedule record only one channel and still no TV guide, I will throw this Magnovax analog to digital converter box w/ remote control in w/ sale of Panasonic.

I have a working Panasonic DMR-E80H, which I'm using to archive all of my VHS and Hi-8 material. I'll take a recording and make a raw DVD-RAM copy, so I have one long file I can use to make a super-fancy home movie someday, when I become adept at editing. (This will NEVER happen!)

After the DVD-RAM, I do simple menus and edits, and burn to DVD-R. Does anyone have any suggestions of other brands (used or imported) that I might like, having similar specs to my Panasonic?

Other than STB's EH-75 your best bet would be a international Panasonic. They start just North of $300 and like your E80H lack a built in VHS. The internationals lack any usable tuner but work with a external VHS or other line output device just fine.
