Alteratives to Denon 1611 for price reasons

So I'm looking at a Denon 1611 however the price $289 B Stock is just a little out of my price range.

I'm a big fan of denon from when I was a kid 25 years ago.

I have a set of 5.1 Paradigm speakers which I love..and want to put a good signal in them.

Any suggestions appreciated. 3D HDMI is not important.

Not sure if this makes a difference with your budget, but I just got the 1611 brand new (not B stock) from electronics expo for the same price. You just need to call them and talk with sales to get the price.

Check those reviews for which are AVRs .... EE is the most recommended/used vendor in the Denon AVS threads.

I've never had any bad experiences with them and they are an authorized Denon dealer. Just a thought.

Look at used market like Aidiogon or e-bay. You can find good deals on 2-3 years old units there. Those who want 3D are selling their old stuff.

if 3D isn't needed and you want a Denon than the best alternative is one of last year's models, e.g. 590/1610 or 790/1910.

Check out ecost.com for great deals on refurb models.
