Hi Guys,
This is my first post on this forum, so please go easy on me!
I'm new to the home theatre segment, mainly through not really needing one. However, with the recent addition of another console, I am sick of console gaming via the TV (Samsung 40" LCD) speakers.
I have an Xbox 360, a PS3 and also a PC that I use for gaming.
The PC has a 9800GX2 which has an HDMI out and can apparently pass audio from my sound card through the graphics card and out the HDMI (I've already got the little cable to connect the two). I haven't done this due to using the PC as my current home theatre, and also for games.
It has a Creative X-fi extrememusic sound card (early one, full width), and is connected to a Logitech 530 set of 5.1 speakers via 3.5mm jacks.
What I would like as a finished product, is both my consoles, and my PC to be connected to one amp, and for all three sources to be able to reproduce DTS, AC3 etc.
I know I will need to buy an amp, and also speakers but I am a total newb to the home theatre market and would really appreciate some advice from you guys on how I could achieve this.
I would like to keep this as cheap as possible. I am not looking for an uber-top-end system, just something that would be able to give me a 5.1 experience from all three sources
Any tips or comments would be greatly appreciated!
