Can I use different speaker wire for my receiver?

My dad bought a central channel speaker off of craigslist a few months ago. I have two AKAI speakers that have the red and black speaker wire.I also have two 80 watt kenwood speakers. They have the red and black wires just like the AKAI ones.I want to have my own surround sound setup. I bought the 24-Gauge speaker wire for the central speaker. Is there going to be a problem if I hook all of this stuff up? I don't want to blow my receiver up. I have a JVC RX-518V reciever if that helps.

You won't blow anything up by using that wire. But 24 AWG wire is pretty small for speakers. You would be better off with something beefier, even 18 AWG for short runs.

Yes, get at least 18 AWG or better and so you don't have to worry about it holding you back.

As the others have said you definitely won't hurt anything.
