epson 8350 White Jail bars/vertical lines showing up

The epson 8350 owners thread has gotten too long (51 pages)..
on my new epson 8350: I have faint jail bar like white vertical lines.. actually about 20 degrees slanted in vertical axis.. these are very faint..
I put a white paper on the screen and they show up on the white paper too..
suggetions?
Connection is hdmi from DVR to Epson..

I just exchanged my unit with another.. and the replacement unit has the identical problem.. Does anyone else not have this problem?

The fact that 2 different projectors have the same problem suggests a problem with your setup. Possibly electrical interference. I would start by testing the projector in a different location (different electrical circuit) and introduce the equipment source(s) or different ones, one by one, until the problem reappears. If it doesn't, go back to original circuit and try again.

actually, the jail bars appear even on the Menu, without any signal connected.. i changed the menu background to blue and I can see the faint white vertical bars.. at about 120" wide picture, the bars about about 1/2 inch to inch wide..
I did try a different outlet and without my surge protector.. Same problem..
Epson is sending a replacement projector.
I can't believe that I am the only one who is noticing it and that two brand new projectors have it.. What am I missing? Of course, the jail bars are very faint but quite visible.

So what was the resolution to this issue? I just picked up an Epson 8500UB and I have the same issue you are describing. Before I contact Epson, I was trying to learn more about this issue and if there is a way to make the lines disappear.

I have a 6010, I'm not sure I would describe it as Jail bars, but I have vertical lines. I would describe them as a stain on the wall after you splash it with water and several waterlines come down the wall. Any ideas of what causes this? My projector has about 60 hrs.
