@SMJ, I can't remember if you mentioned ever viewing other projectors or not. Is there any place in your area that has viewing rooms that you could go to and check out some other projectors?
nah i havent seen any places that have viewing rooms. we have a PC world store, but it suxs as they never run their projectors.Ive had one previous projector but was only 800 x 600, not worth mentioning

Planar gave me a new lamp a while back when it went in for repair. Selling the projector would not get me much if any more than the lamp is worth, so I decided to keep it.
hehe i love it, A few people here own 3-4 projectors nice!

I do like this PJ. I do not like the way they rate the lumens. Saying the chipset can produce 3000 lumens 1/8 of an inch away from it means nothing when only max bright is really around 700 lumens and probably closer to 400 D65 calibrated. I do not like when manufacturers use supplier specs for all their components because depending on how they put them together depends on if you get worse, the same, or better performance than the individual parts.
There are a bunch of LED pj that use the PT-120 chipset. They are rated at different outputs because of the way each company uses them.
I do think for the price it is a great pj. it does need some tweaking to get rid of the blue hue.
Thxs roving very informative, i am certainly gonna have to save up for a DVDO. This has turned into an intresting hobby, I can see why you guys love/collect projectors
Ive spotted a DVDO edge for a good price, but looking at the anchorbay site its the iscan duo that i think i need? as it has the custom CMS controls.
The iscan duo looks great but would be awhile until i could get one. would the DVDO edge be suitable?
