New legal drama coming to USA. It looks interesting.

http://www.usanetwork.com/series/fairlylegal/

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1586676/

Starts January 20.

I usually give USA shows a first look but I think I'll pass on this one. Seems fairly derivative from the trailers and even though Shahi is extraordinarily hot that's not really selling it for me.

You can watch the first episode for free via Amazon VOD.

Works for me. I liked her character and the people around her.

I watched it via Amazon On Demand. You could see the USA Network influence although it wasn't as strong as I expected. Overall not a bad premiere. Fairly predictable with a strong cast.

I thought it was okay, it was a bit better than the usual USA pablum, I'll be back next week.

I can't get over how little Shahi is, 10% of her height looks to be just in her heels.

She is gorgeous. Absolutely. Been on my radar ever since "L-Word".

As you point out, she's only 5'3".

Interestingly, she's married to Steve Howey who plays Kev on "Shameless". He's 6'3 1/2"!

And... she's a mother!

Same here, I especially enjoyed watching her in "Life", I thought she and Damian Lewis worked really well together as partner cops.

Wife and I watched it tonight, we both enjoyed it. Shahi is extremely likeable and of course is easy on the eyes. We'll be watching more.

I'm guessing this show is filmed in Vancouver too? Saw quite a bit of Vancouver TV alums (Smallville, BSG, and SGU).

I'm surprised people are lukewarm on this show, or even less.

I was NOT going to watch it based on the ads, then my wife watches the pilot and says I won't like it. So of course that makes we want to watch it, and as a fan of legal dramas, I actually enjoyed it. Turns out my wife thought originally I would love it and played some reverse psychology on me. It was a good plan because she was insistent I wouldn't like it and the insistence made me want to watch the pilot just so I could rip the show.

I've watched the run thus far and it's pretty good. I like the fact that the legal drama is via mediation, which is different than strict courtroom stuff. Also I feel like some of the "cases" are a bit more realistic than typical legal drama shows. Helps keep it interesting. Best part of the show is their legal drama and how it's just as captivating as courtroom scenes in "The Practice," but it's really nothing like it.

Women are hot (Shahi looks AWFUL in the picture above, but on the show, wow), they paint Lauren to be older, but she just seems like a 40-something goddess to me (the character, in real life she was born in 1978 so she's not that old at all, only two years older than Shahi)

Not to mention it's nice to see Michael Trucco, always liked him since he played Anders in BSG. He's good here too.

The show has a lot going for it. In fact, it may be too good for USA and blows away some of their other drama lineup.

I like the show, it's a keeper for me on my DVR.

Little confused though. Last week, it looked like she was packing up in anticipation of moving off the boat when the will was read. They read the will and split everything 4 ways, so she should have $$$$$, yet this week it looks lie she's settled into the boat for good. What happened, rewrite? Anyone clarify this?

I've seen every episode and there was nothing about her moving off the boat. In fact, I don't recall any packing of any kind.

Maybe you misinterpreted something from last week as her wanting to move off the boat?

In the first episode, first scene, she was tossing what I assume to be dirty laundry out on to the deck and stuffing it into a bag/box ...

... second ep: ex-hub offered to let her move back into house ... offer rejected.

I like it.

In the USA promos, she looks like Eva Longoria. On the show, she could be Jamie Ray Newman's sister (Stargate Atlantis, Eureka, Eastwick). Good cast and good chemistry. I already care about them.

Just started watching Fairly Legal- I'm up to S01E03 and I'm also enjoying it.
Sarah Shahi is just a guilty pleasure to look at.... and the bonus is- the wife likes the show too! Talk about win-win!
Here's one of my favorite Sarah Shahi (pre-baby) photos...

Reminds me of all the other USA shows I've tried to watch, and always given up on. Just 40 minutes of show, trying to be entertaining, but I never end up being entertained. I'm only sorry I just spent 40 minutes watching nothing.

Or, maybe like Vanessa Marcil.

May be a bit OT (although I do think of Vanessa and Sarah and Eva as all looking very similar), but this is one of the all-time great event dresses (think JLo at Grammy's in green Versace).

I heard Sarah was in this, I feel like I watch it for the sake of watching it because I don't want Sarah to go away. The show is hit or miss throughout the episodes. It's nice it see Richard Dean Anderson though.

I think Virginia Williams might be tops as "eye candy" on this show.

Tall, long legs, great posture, nice a**...what's not to like?

The blonde is hot, but Shahi to me is the top babe of this show.

I'm a brunette guy so she doesn't really do much for me. Sarah on the other hand... xD

I'm gonna have to stop watching this show when the season ends... It's killing me. Sarah just isn't enough to keep me around.
Sarah Shahi is everything I need to stick around. The plots aren't great, but the acting is good, and Sarah Shahi is really good. Not to mention how easy on the eyes she is. The chemistry between her and her assistant, Leo, as well as with her estranged husband (Michael Trucco) is more than enough for me. This first season flew by.

This is one of the few shows I can watch with my wife- so I'll keep watching too. I did catch myself looking at my watch a few times during the last episode to see when it was over..... not a good sign. At least it doesn't constantly insult our intelligence like "The Event".

I'm not sure I'll remember subplot specifics from this episode for very long, but I won't forget Kate's emotional journey through the day. That was powerful!

And is it just me, or is Sarah Shahi capable of transmitting pheromones through an electronic broadcast?

She's very attractive, that's for sure. Think she's looking better as the season progresses. Did you see her in the "life" series, specifically the first season? If not.... you owe it to yourself!

Virginia Williams is very attractive too- but would someone please give that woman a sandwich (and make her eat it)! She's beyond rail thin now.

Overall we enjoy the show and it's cast. It's kind of a guilty pleasure with the eye candy- but with some kind of story to keep it going too.

OK, first of all I am a huge Sarah Shahi fan, from her turn as Farah a reformed Muslim on Sleeper Cell, to The Soprano's with Tony, to her brilliant spin with Captain Winters on Life, especially season 1. I had high hopes for this show, and the pilot accentuated almost all of her positives, beauty, shape, and a** They dressed her in the high heels and tight skirts... Episode 2 on they de-hotted and put her in flats, and made the script and plot lines horrible. Face it, it's a chick show, with eye candy for us...Easy to watch with your wife or gf. Probably be re-newed.....

I haven't seen Life. I'll try to check it out. From what I have seen, Sarah Shahi seems to be the full package - with great looks and nuanced delivery. As far as I'm concerned, she displayed both beautifully in the season finale.

Damian Lewis and Shahi make what I think was one of the best buddy teams ever to be on TV, too bad it didn't last. Shahi plays a much darker, introspective character in the show, not the flashy, vibrant Kate Reed seen in FL.

I still really miss LIFE.
