What did everyone make of the lions off in the distance and the tribesmen jumping up into the trees? The country singer was looking around like, "should I be concerned right now, or...?"

Were they joking around as if in mock fear of the lion or what, exactly?

The bushmen were hilarous. They were really smitten with the two blonds. I also bet they never though they would ever say this line any time, ever, "We have 3 bushmen in our back seat." biggrin.gif

I'm not sure what was going on there. I think either the CO2 in their breath or perhaps the heat in their breath puts the scorpion in a state of topor for a couple of minutes. I assume they were doing it so that the scorpion would be lethargic when they placed it on the contestants hand.

Interesting possibility, that didn't even occur to me. Just thought they were showing off. biggrin.gif

They asked what he was doing and they showed in sub titles that he stated the reason they put it in their mouth is that the scorpion is their friend and they are showing respect by cleaning it.

Those darned donkeys.

I would have thought max and katie would get dinged at the end for hitting the pole

Fixing that is probably cheaper than the clutches contestants burn out.wink.gif

Do the rules say you have to pay any traffic tickets before the mat?

I've never seen racers get penalized for damaging their car. Let's see...

- Dustin and Candice rear-ended a bus (and later took another car leaving the last team with the dented one)
- ___ and ___ (Gregg? tall thin guys on S8 or 9) rolled their safari SUV in the African bush
- Adam and Rebecca poured unleaded into their diesel only tank (though the gas station mechanic siphoned it out)
- A few other teams drove a few miles with unleaded in their diesel only tank until the car died
- Kevin and Drew drove their car through Equador's park with a flat tire to the point where the tire was literally hanging off the rim
- I seem to recall one team backing into something and completely smashing their rear window.

That's all I can think of so far smile.gif

As soon as I saw the donkeys I thought of Season 7 where two or three teams went from first to last thanks to their llamas.

Not that I know of. People have been pulled over for not driving with their lights on (John and Victoria S6). Talk about a great way to make some fast cash though! I wonder if any producers got caught in the trap, too. Imagine Phil missing the mat due to paying his fine!

I wondered as I watched if it was set up by the producers ..

Lord Zath, I sure hope you had to look up all those player names (john, victoria, drew, etc). If you pulled those from memory, I'm very frightened and intimated right now. I'm not sure I would be able to reel off more than a few player names from the current season, let alone past ones. eek.gif

The only other one that I can clearly recall was the time a girl's team sideswipped another car in Tokyo and knocked the other car's mirror off. I can't recall how much damage it did to their car.

I also seem to recall someone leaving an emergency brake on and burning up the brakes. But that might have been on some other show. confused.gif

Me too. But they sure were wildly inconsistent, so I'm not really surprised by the nature of their exit.

Although, I will admit that the cheesy trick the producers pulled by putting the Ibis on top of a hippo and then only having an Ibis tile burned me too. I had to rewind and look at it again to figure out what the heck was going on. And I'm stunned that Chuck managed to figure out the trick on the first try.

Yeah from memory. Seasons 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 are my favorites so far so I watch those all the time. Plus I use them in my classroom, so there's some repitition there! We're actually watching All Stars right now. From Season 11 through 18 or 19 (Ernie and Cindy) I found myself very bored with the contestants and locations. So I don't know those very well!

Count me in the crowd who also liked Pam & Winnie. However, "wildly inconsistent" defines them perfectly. I can't believe they searched for the "animals" twice and missed one both times.

As for Chuck, he's a hunter and used to looking for wild game. I'm not a bit surprised they got it on the first try, especially given that they only had to remember five each.

I'd add that it seemed to me they tend to over think things ..

The show must make them go pay their ticket because I would of just eventually left the country and not worried about it. They are welcome to fly to the states to collect if they want.

My experience has been that they take something important, like your license, and keep it until you pay, when you are out of the country.

Wow, hope you don't need that license in the mean time to prove who you are or you might end up at the bottom of some hole, never to be seen again.
^^^ taking the license as collateral is no different than what many counties in the US do ..
Either that or European countries will just bill your car rental company, which in turn will charge your credit card and tack on an administrative fee.

You missed the funnier typo when CruelInventions said, " If you pulled those from memory, I'm very frightened and intimated right now. " biggrin.gif

At least I hope that was a typo and he meant to say "intimidated" and not that Lord_Zath's impressive memory makes him horny. eek.gif

The racers still have their passports.

Most likely, they are giving up their international driver's licenses.

My guess would be that Phil would not let a team check in to the mat with an outstanding fine or ticket. I remember one season where he sent a team back to pay it's outstanding taxi fare.

Ah, so repeat season viewings is your secret. Then I don't feel quite so inadequate anymore.

What can I say, I find memory skills uber sexy. wink.gif

Actually, it was just an absent-minded, missing syllabic snafu. good catch.
