Somebody help me understand why after Nicole performed so poorly with robot challenge, and Travis letting us know that, why did Nicole do the flour drop? It seems to me that Travis should have done that since he thinks he is so much better.

Myself, I just figured Nicole had not done enough tasks to complete her quota for the Season ..

Yeah, I wasn't keeping track but it seemed like Travis had done more tasks than Nicole and it needs to be equal. From the beginning Travis and Nicole were my faves with Jason and Amy a close second. I didn't care for the hypocrisy that Travis and Nicole displayed at the musical challenge but still gave them the benefit of the doubt. However, the way Travis was talking to his wife was truly disappointing and fully dropped them out of favor for me. My kids watch this show too and I took the time to explain to them that a man shouldn't talk to his wife this way. Then they were talking about how proud their kids will be. I'm thinking not and frankly I think he and his entire family will be quite embarrassed and Nicole will feel humiliated. As obnoxious as the Afghanimals were and some of the things they did that I didn't care for I think in the end they better represented themselves. Furthermore, while I wouldn't have said this 2-3 weeks ago, I now think they were just as deserving to be in the final 3 as Travis and Nicole if not more deserving.

Im glad Jason and Amy won and think its crazy to have so many second place finishes and ultimately save first place for the last leg.

Tim and Marie....what can you say....that was just a nutty situation but they made it work for them...somehow. That 60/40 split thing was ridiculous. I don't care what his explanations were, he demonstrated that she completely holds him by the short and curlys and he's not strong enough mentally to do anything about it.

Side notes....Travis and Nicole, the ER doctors....well, Nicole anyway....kind of hard to believe. I get the impression she's one of those book smart people but has limitations when she has to think outside of the box. I'd personally prefer my doctor to have a little more going for him/her.

Also, considering how much Amy helped Nicole, I wonder if there will be any changes to the rules going forward regarding help.

There have been worse couples than them, with people more verbally abusive than Travis.

True, but Travis takes the prize for the most self righteous

Yeah. He presented himself as so upstanding yet degraded his wife publicaly and on national tv. IMO he went far beyond just having a competitive nature. And again it was his wife of all people and they have children who would see this.

I've met more than a few doctors who were arrogant and self-righteous; this guy is no one special.
A I've mentioned before, I'm surprised at Nicole's subservience. She's also a doctor, and she's shown some feistiness to the other contestants. But the more overbearing and insulting Travis got, the more reserved and desperate she became. There's probably something to be said about the editing but I'm sure there's some honesty to her reactions that can't be manipulated by the editing.

This is television after all; I don't know any of these folks personally, so I won't get too sucked into it.

So let's see...

we get to listen to Globetrotters music as well as cowboy music again
watch a deaf kid do well to advance the cause of people with his disability until he gets frustrated and starts yelling out "DUMB" again
enjoy seeing the twins start screaming at each other again

I'd say I like about 1/3 of those teams. 1/3 I tolerate and the other 1/3 I just don't care to see on TV. Not sure i consider this an "ALL STARS" season. The first time TAR did it they had a much better cast...

Thanks for posting that link, though. I am looking forward to watching it regardless in a month!

Does Dave blow out his Achillies again?

It's pretty bad when over half the teams (6 out of the 11), I can't stand and have no desire to see again. I may just end up skipping this season like I do with Survivor when they constantly bring back old players.

Brenchel, No debate.

A lot of people didn't like the Afghanimals, and I don't understand why. Sure, they lied to the other teams and argued with each other and were boisterous, but they didn't cheat, and their lying was part of their game play and it was not mailicious. Also, they were able to adapt to the cultures of the various countries and were mostly positive.

Over the years, there have certainly been teams that have well surpassed the Afghanimals in dislikeability ..

Remember Jonathon Baker and Victoria Fuller .. ?? when he shoved his wife to the ground .. ??

or Joe Baldassare and Bill Bartek, “Team Guido" .. ??

I initially did not like the Afghanimals .. but as the Race went on, their ability to bounce back and general (not always) positive attitude won me over ..

All plucked from the last 3 years. Wonder why so heavily weighted with the most recent seasons. Do they think fans have too short a memory to pull any from seasons 1 thru 17?
yeah there's tons of talent from earlier seasons.

Season 1 Frank and... aww who cares it's Frank.

Season 4 clowns

Season 5 Charla/Mirna or Colin and Christie

Season 6 Adam and Rebecca (for the lolz) or Jonathan and Victora (even greater lolz)

Season 7 NO ONE

Season ... 9? Coal miners and beauty queens

Those were the good old days smile.gif

I stopped watching last year because of The Afghanimals. I don't like people that act like living stereotypes/caricatures . I would not like a team that called themselves the Germaniacs, The Britiots, or The New Zeawis, either. I just found them annoying.

Myself, I did not come away thinking the Afghanimals were intentionally playing off stereotypes/caricatures of middle Eastern people, if that's what you're saying .. if anything, I think they actually helped dispel some of those stereotypes .. they were generally upbeat, mostly positive, seemingly fun loving .. I see nothing wrong with a little National Pride ..

I guess you're out for the coming season as well then .. ??

Agreed. What was stereotypical of their behavior? Because the were loud and fun loving? Because they told lies to confuse the other teams? Because they were dark skinned and had much facial hair?

If they were truly stereotypical, they'd be running around with dishcloths on their heads, wringing their hands and cackling loudly like Jafar in the Alladin movie.

Note: the above line was not meant to offend any race or be "accurate". It was used to point out the absurdity of the original statement about stereotypes.

So far a good start.

Can't believe Bopper got bopped. But Mallory is a welcome addition. I was actually hoping for Dave or Mary but Mallory works, too!

Twinnies... hahahahaahahahhaa I wanna just point and laugh.

My picks - Cowboys, YouTube, Mark/Mallory
