'The Amazing Race' on CBS HD - Page 22

Yeah I felt Art and JJ just didn't get it together. Whoever was doing it just got frustrated and didn't take the time to really think things through.

Too bad about Vanessa. Huge kudos to her for having such a heart. Ralph is a very lucky guy. I made a few comments that my wife didn't approve of .

The best team showed why they were the best team, good for them. He was a dick at times though. I loved the part when Ralph and Vanessa were called Conan and Kardashian.

Best finale in a long time with each team making mistakes which helped make it interesting to the end. But sooooo glad that Brachel did not win, now if those two would just walk off into the sunset and stop showing up on tv. Great effort by Vanessa to get through that task with her ankle all screwed up. Too bad she was not able to move on. Congratulations to Rachel and Dave for winning.

I could not believe she actually did it .. I thought for sure they would take the penalty .. her ankle in the close up shots really looked swollen ..

The Japanese are a comical people ..

Missed the first hour. Did the last team just miss qualifying for the final?

Also, why is that guy sticking with that whiny chick?

That guy has stuck with that whiny chick through two Big Brother seasons and now one season of The Amazing Race. Neither of them are as dumb as they look/act (especially her).

Brendon Villegas, age 31, is a PHD student at UCLA working on cancer research. Rachel Reilly, age 27, is "just" listed as an Event Hostess, but she has a BS degree in Chemistry. She also won Big Brother in one of the two seasons she was on it, winning $500,000.

They are engaged in real life.

Right they're smart but emotionally she's a wreck.

That's got to be exhausting.

I know people who watched BB say it's an act to get them to win. But their interaction is unpleasant too, like when they were running to the helicopter. What edge would bickering about whether they should be running to the copter impart?

I guess if he didn't win but she did win and has money, that might be why he puts up with her.

Or he's really a big breasts guy.

Reality TV has characters .. Rachel presents a character ..

And, I'm guessing some may have heard of the power of love ..
I was kinda disappointed Rachel finished the last task so fast. I kept expecting her cleavage to shovel up the grass and dirt, while (art/jj?) kept failing right beside.

That made me wonder what the "rules" were. Blondie did it without dragging her feet and so did Art. But Rachel dragged her feet. Did they let Rachel get away with a rules infraction or were both Art and Blondie just being stupid?

On other topics: I think I starting to get annoyed that they've stopped doing the quiz stage in the finals.

See you next time ..

Rachael has a fatter ass than Art or JJ.
Was that insensitive? Good!

Good Riddance to those two losers.

In order to cross the finish line, the sledder had to build up enough speed .. if they drug their feet, as long as they were still going fast enough to cross, how would it matter .. ?? It looked to me like the course leveled out before getting to the finish line ..

I miss that as well. They really should always do that.

Dave, with his military background, probably would have killed on that task anyhow.

Rachel used her feet like outriggers on a canoe to make certain she didn't tip over.

She managed to do most of the course without using here feet, but she did use them the last sled length or two, so it didn't really slow her down. It just kept her from tipping over.

I guess it must have been legal and Art and Blondie just did it the hard way without using their feet at all.

And ironically, the two Rachels with those big bolt-ons usually have a higher center of mass than most people. But when they lay down on their stomachs on those skinny little sleds they have a lower center of mass than most people, making balancing easier. I predict Vanessa also would have been really good at the sledding challenge, too.

Add me to that list .. and I was amazed at the stand up paddle board ability of Dave and Rachel .. I guess the others did that challenge as well but I did not see any footage of it ..

Actually, there was a guy on Shark Tank pitching stand up paddle boards. He said that it's very easy to do and anyone can learn to do it in minutes. Apparently, it's great exercise as well.

I'd really love to give it a try. It looks fun.

I have to admit, when I saw Art falling over time after time, I kept thinking why not just drag your feet to stay balanced.

Because military men have a better memory?

The Conan and Kardashian nicknames were sweet

Agree with all that. Especially the Brenchel part. Call me bad but I yelled out a really loud YEAH! when they hopped in that cab

Yes, they were close, but there was a Japanese game show challenge where Vanessa had to run on this treadmill type track and jump up and grab rubber chickens. He ankle was really swollen and she fell many times, surprised she didn't hurt anything else.

I'm sad the Bruce Campbell impersonators lost. (Team Border Patrol)

I like staring at the Big Brother girl but for them to win would have sucked.

Yell at my wife Army guy won. Booooooo!

Overall a very exciting finale. Close finish with plenty of dumb mistakes.

Can't wait for the next season.

Why did Vanessa do the running challenge, she stated that they had to do equal tasks. Is that a rule? I don't recall it ever being that one person had to do the same number of tasks as the other person. She made that comment and so did the big brother girl.

That was a rule added back at the start of Season 6, after Chip & Kim won Season 5 with Kim doing one or two roadblocks total.

When she said at the challenge "I'm taking my shirt off" I thought to myself FINALLY!

I can't believe it took until the last episode for someone to say that line. That was priceless and frankly perfect.

Overall, while Dave and Rachel were annoying at times, they clearly were the best team and deserved it most.

This question wasn't directed at me, but I'll add my two cents...

Being a helicopter pilot, he certainly had a huge amount of information stuffed down his throat in a short period of time in flight school. So at least for information he cares about he obviously has a good memory.

As far as military men in general, I think the argument would be more about "situational awareness". At least for guys that have earned combat stars, you better be really aware of what's going on around you or you end up dead. Whether they remember all that at a later date is questionable.
As ex-military .. I don't think our memory is any better than any one elses .. however, we may have a bit of an advantage when it comes to discipline, tenacity, and self-confidence ...
Good reply Mac, thanks. It makes sense about the helicopter pilot aspect. Beyond that, I don't see where a military service background in general would serve someone particularly well for that type of memory test.

She's not smart. Her BF should have done all the tasks if she was really hurt.
