Old (AST-C10) Yamaha System speaker problem

Thread Starter
During a recent move I detached the speakers of my wife's old (a 1989 high school graduation gift and thus of significant sentimental value) Yamaha AST-C10 system but when I attempted to reconnect them I got no sound from either of the SC10 speakers. The sound is fine with headphones, with volume, equalization and all other features in working order. This speaker wires on this system are unlike any I've seen before, with two pins on the end of each wire that plug into a socket on the back of the system (I'm sure many readers of this forum are probably familiar with the design). I imagine it's possible something internal was broken during the move but I took the casing off and could see nothing obvious.

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Hi,

I read your note. Are you still looking for a solution?
I bought an AST-C10 too which really was the very best sound I have ever had.
the CD player doesn't work any more so I don't se it anymore. But I have kept it for the speakers as they use the activ servo technique wich gives great sound for small speakers.

I have tried for years to buy a new one but as I saw your add maybe you would be interested in purchasing my loudspeakers.

I live in Europe (France). How much do you think you can pay for these speakers
(postage apart)? Where do you live?

Thanks.
Patrick
