So, has anybody seen this projector in action. It certainly seems bright, perhaps enough to light up my 120" Studiotek 130 in 3D. Anybody know the local Chicago dealer?

Thanks,
David

We will be showing a prototype of this at ISE in a couple of weeks.

This model is still quite a few months away from availability though.

Funny, from the web reports, I thought that it was already out. Have you seen it yet?

PDF says Preliminary, but also that it uses a single 0.95" DLP chip. On-Off contrast is limited at upto 2000:1, even the 0.98" DLPs tend to get 2500:1 or a tad higher, so that's an indicatin of the cost cutting involved.

Isn't the bandwidth a bit limited for 3D applications? Guess it will be limited to a total of 120 fps? Yep, just read some of last years cedia time reports based on the company's announcement.

And the 3 in the subject isn't missing 'chip', but 'D', I would expect that a single chipper would be off-topic here, these days. Reports also spoke of adressing the mass market ith this unit...

This showed at Cedia. I have one on order and hope to take delivery by the first of April. Going to try it out on my rear-pro screen. mainly for gaming.

Its actually a running joke in the 3k+ forum started back when Dwin announced a product that missed the target date by months. This was years ago but everyone keeps it alive when ever we see a new product announced.
Im sure this will not be the case but I put in the joke before someone else jumped in
