Realtek audio output problem

Thread Starter
I have a HT computer that uses a Realtek audio onboard. I use the digital output into my receiver to play files in WMC. In WMC, I can play DVDs, recorded TV, but when I go to play an MPG file, I have no sound.

However, if I deselect the digital output and reselect the speakers that are hooked to the computer, I have sound.

The driver version is 6.0.1.6029, 1/19/10, which I believe is the latest driver.

Thank you for any help.

Seems odd... what if you play the mpg file in MediaPlayer outside of WMC, does it work? My guess is in the setup somehow... the TV and DVD are using passthrough of the AC3 stream whereas the mpg may have to do like Windows SYSTEM sounds and be converted to digital to pass - how is your receiver configured? If it's not on AUTO then it may be getting PCM audio from your PC and it's forced to DD or something else...
