DVD Player to replace Trutech (all formats)

I got a Tru-Tech unit from Target about 3years ago for $35 .. While Tru-tech as a brand is quite low on the review side, this little dvd player would play ANYTHING I shoved in the drive.

Now trutech is all but extinct and I was trying to buy another "Plays everything" dvd player for my niece. I got a $40 Magnavox from walmart that claims to play "DVD+/-R" which is true for cloned dvds.. but home movies that I make in divx or xvid format for things like wedding videos and stuff don't work at all (disc error).

So I'm trying to find a unit like my trutech unit for the same ~$40 as well as having a nice small unit. The trutech unit is like 8x8x2.. tiny but still works great.

Any ideas?

I've searched a bit more and it looks like Philips is the brand to beat

I found http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers?...Submit2=Search

But most of those models are discontinued now.

Amazon does have this one for $49:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...SIN=B003LWXJ2A

and it lists DIVX certified so I guess thats as good as I'm gonna find
