Moovida: A new HTPC frontend

Thread Starter
Hello all, I clicked on a tech blog app on my phone this morning and lo and behold, a new HTPC frontend called Moovida has been announced. It is still in beta, but looks extremely promising. I went to the Moovida website and was checking it out and I really like the look of it, very sleek. The website says that it will be able to play ANY media format you can throw at it and seems that it would be highly configurable, but not as complicated as XBMC or Mediaportal. I currently run Media Browser with the the MediaCenter Master as scraper and have TMT3 as my player for all my video media, but I will be downloading this frontend to experiment and give it a run. I will post back to let everyone know my experience with Moovida.

Here's a post about this on Engadget:

Not sure I agree with their comment that Microsoft is moving away from the HTPC platform. Has anyone confirmed that this is indeed part of Microsoft's plan?

No DVR support.
No DRM stream media support (Netflix, etc.)
No support for cablecard of course..

It's hard to look for the next best thing when right now, I haven't come up with anything that rivals 7MC.. or is even close.

Nope, no one has confirmed it. It has been confirmed that Bill Gates has a dream of having Windows be the centerpiece of our home entertainement. Granted, he is not in charge of Microsoft any longer, but I am sure he still has considerable influence over them.
