Pioneer 111FD calibration questions and concerns

I'm new to all this and know nothing about calibration. If I choose to have my elite calibrated what should I be looking for? better color reproduction? darker blacks? Or is this TV pretty much so good, unless your a total videophile (i'm not) it will be like throwing money down the drain? Or is it a crime to have this TV and not give it the best treatment? Also what is all the ISFccc about? controlcal? etc? My TV is also very close to the wall, if they cannot access the service menu is it even worth it to have someone come out? Or is accessing the service menu absolutely necessary?

Any other info is helpful, thanks.

It depends on if you want a great looking display or a reference display.

Greetings,

Some info HERE, HERE and HERE

The second link has posts from other owners who have had their Pioneer(s) professionally calibrated.

For the 111, the service menu is not required for calibration (though most of the Calibrator's linked in my Signature below can access the SM).

i'll post here as I also PM'ed you as well in case you don't come back turbe.

But thank you very much. I will read through all of that a bit later today. My only question is you have to access the service menu to get the ISF modes correct? Because that's what I want. I'm not going to pay $300 for someone to fiddle with my remote. I can do that and have used d-nice's settings but I want the absolute most this set is capable of. Thanks!

Hi,

The ISFccc Interface is totally separate from the Service Menu.

The ISFccc Interface cannot be accessed from the Service Menu and the Service Menu cannot be accessed from the ISFccc Interface.
