HD in VERY FEW select areas, for reasons I don't understand. I don't think any of the major cableCos (Comcast, TWC, Cox, Cablevision) carry it in HD.

Good to see it coming back though, it's way better than the poor American imitation right now. But its seasons are way too short.

TWC has it in the East division BBC America HD

-snip-
CV doesn't even carry BBCA-SD!

I have many issues with Dish but the fact they do carry BBCA-HD keeps me with them (at least until FIOS gets it, which probably won't be until next year).

TWC Cable has it in HD in SE Wisconsin. They added it a couple of months after BBC launched it.

I watched the 2hr season 16 opener and it was a lot of fun. There was also another season 16 episode that preceded or followed it with the 911 Turbo cabriolet. The PQ on BBCA-HD looks noticeably better this season. Here is what my guide says:

"America's East Coast Special" The hosts race up America's east coast, comparing the Merceds-Benz SLS, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and Ferrari 458 Italia."

These would be so much better if Comcast had BBCA HD... the one thing I miss about Dish.

I guess it's a lot easier to add shows to VOD than full channels to a cable system (particularly if the cable system is running at capacity?)?

I cannot believe BBCA bleeped the word "tits" especially when it was used in the avian context.

I can't decide if it was pathetic of BBCA or just a very sad commentary on the audience watching the show.

There's plenty of room on Comcast in the digital conversion areas. There must be some other reason why they don't want to carry it in HD.

Did they edit out the Mexican story line for the US replay? I had read all about it, checked the dates in the UK at the time and was waiting to see it here. Nothing. Then, last week or the one before, the guest made a comment implying the Mexican controversy was the previous week. Saw nothing, so either I fell asleep for 5 minutes or the segment was edited for international audiences.

Thoughts?

They always edit for time for the US broadcast, due to the shorter "hour" run time here. On previous seasons, they have eliminated the star lap, or parts of the challenges, or the news. That's why I only watch the original BBC version (Plus I can watch it in HD, weeks before available in the USA).
BTW, all the stunts and challenges seemed pretty lame to me this year, other than the combine harvester snowplow. And even that was partially ruined by Clarkson and his flame thrower antics. I might be officially over Top Gear.
Rusty,
I broadcast on BBCA has been 1:20 for quite some time now. I always presumed that the show was about an hour in the UK without commercials. I wouldn't doubt they cut some for time, but perhaps not as much as you think given the lengthier show in the US>

Question remains, did they specifically cut the Mexican slights?
