As for the save file it is copy protected and most likely tied to your account. My guess is your friend is trying to take on the asylum demon first time, with the broken sword. Tell him to find the side door and run away from the first fight.

Oh u mean like I did for like 65 mins?

If he has PS+ and puts his account on your system, yes, but there's also a time limit I think to when he can reupload/download. Not sure on the specifics.

It is 24 hours. The only reason I know is because I just subscribed to plus today for the cloud feature so I could transfer my game saves to my new slim that I just traded in my phat for. The only way to move copy protected files is with the cloud feature or the transfer utility, not the backup/restore utility. Since I traded my old console in, I couldn't do the transfer.

Anyway, long story short, you have to wait 24 hours to download/upload each time.

quick question, when playing generally how many humanities do you guys keep active? I have been playing most of the game with around 4 or 5...
When PvP (playing for MP) or farming, 30 as it maxes out your drop rate (max rate of 410 with gold serpent ring). 10 maxes out chaos weapon addition damage.

Otherwise I keep in in consumer-able form until I'm at a bonfire and need to kindle or go human.

Most drops are not super rare and you don't really need to be carrying around used humanity since you'll get them eventually. I only use 30 when farming for eyes of death, humanity, or rare stone drops to tell you the truth. In the depths you can farm 5-6 humanity drops with 30 active + the ring in about 5 min by running through a circuit and taking the shortcut back. easy way to put 99 humnaity in your B Box and carry 99 too.

not sure why but I'm running low on humanity...
^That's one of the largest flaws the game has when you first start out, and it used to be worse before the patch. Once you get to the Tomb of the Giants you can farm baby skeletons for humanity. As suggested by TyrantII, make sure to have 30 humanity and the covetous gold serpent ring when farming.

LOL

Like I said though, it's not really needed unless you need help (summon) or need to kindle a fire for more flasks. It's biggest advantage is when farming for specific things.

You can always drop your white soapstone and help others, beating a boss will net you 1 humanity in the upper left. You can drop the stone as both human and hollow form.

The only thing I had to spend any significant time farming for was for the channeler's trident. That was like 4 hours. In retrospect, I probably could have made it shorter by doing with a bunch of humanity. It just didn't seem that bad after doing the bladestone farming in Demon's Souls.

Oh man, don't remind me! Ultra-ultra rare drops by only two enemies in the whole damn game...

I actually wanted to try a Channeler's Trident build after looking at the specs on the wiki page, but when I realized how I would have to obtain it, I said screw that.

Heh. It might be worth it to do the dance any time you wanted to.

Finally got through NG after about 50 hours. Great game! Loved the online play much more this time around then Demon Souls.

I don't know if I will go through it again though, I'm kind of burned out from it. I played through Demon Souls 3.5 times to get the plat but don't see me going through Dark Souls another 2.

There is a bonfire behind the drain at the far end of ash lake.

Do you have the lord vessel yet? If not safe travels my friend...

No lord vessel, have fun going back up the tree
post #1100 of 1246
lol, all hail lord vessel...

And don't ever go to Ash Lake again without it

ok, no lord vessel yet...sigh....made it back up tree, went to demon ruins and killed the big guy but I really need supplies. Any shortcuts? or am I gonna go to go all the way back thru blightown to get out....bummin
post #1102 of 1246
Get out of Blighttown and head to Sen's Fortress. After Sen's you go to Anor Londo, which is where the lord vessel is.
There's a waterwheel in the swamp closer to where you fought queelag. Go up it, as it's a much short way out of blightown rather than backtracking through the ricket city and depths.
Yeah I took the water wheel and luckily had the key to valley of drakes..Geese man I have never been so ready to get out of a freaking level as blightown...I took a stockpile of purple clumps in but they eventually ran out..argh! Poison!

Did you happen to pick up the Remedy spell while you were in Blighttown? It's a little less sucky there with the spell. I can't remember where in there it was, but it's definitely in Blighttown.
I honestly cant remember if I did or not, I know I have'nt put any stats into faith so not sure I can use that spell...I find my self hopelessly addicted to this game, even though I really dont like games that are hard...and this one is the hardest of all.....and I cant stop

Remedy is a sorcery, and you just need 16 Int to cast it. On the other hand, if you don't plan to go back to Blighttown (such as in NG+), there's probably no reason for you to worry about it.

what is the best weapon/sword to start upgrading for a melee/dex char? I am currently still using the drake sword upgraded to +1 but I have a lot of upgrade materials and I am ready to get started with it..someone said the falcion sword?
For a dex build, you will at least want to consider the Chaos Blade.
Katana and washing board have really good dex modifiers. Rapiers are also fun.

Dex is really only good if you also go faith or magic to get the darkmoon buff, crystal magic weapon, or sunlight buff.

STR/DEX tends to be wasted.
