well I finally decided to finish the other night, yeah the ending was....meh...but I'm taking another char through and have started NG+, so I guess the fun continues.

I ended up summoning 2 guys to help me, they told me to just stay back and heal them while they did all the work....worked out well for all but near the end I couldnt resist to go in and hack him a few times

im in NG+ now, this happened to me in regular game and now new game, I keep getting a message across the screen about blah blah blah gravelord nito? what does that mean?

Gravelord cult can infect 3 others peoples world with 4X more powerful black phantom version of regular enemies. Those people can find his sign, invade his world and reverse the curse.

It's a bit buggy and doesn't always work right, I've seen the message when I was both not infected and couldn't find his sign.

The sign shows up as a black smoking soul sign made of white bones script writing.

I decided to start leveling up a silver knight sword, I got it to +5 and then retrieved the Large ember from the depths, gave it to Andre and I can't level it up anymore? Is +5 all it will go? I figured once I got the large ember I could take it to +10 and then hopefully use a boss soul to make a unique weapon?

Also what am I supposed to do with Lord Gwyns soul? any ideas

SKS is a "unique" weapon, I bet it took twinkling titanite to level, so +5 is it's limit.

Ahhh bummer. Ok well I wanted to make a different weapon. I have the lighting spear +5 and quelags fury sword maxed out. What would be another good one that would use a boss soul to make?

The SKS at +5 is really a pretty good weapon, dood damage and fast strikes.
I also noticed last night my strength is at 27, when I went to put another point into it I saw that it wouldnt increase ANY of my stats?

I completed quelags domain, went in the back way from valley of drakes. There is really no reason to go through blightown, the great hollow and ash lake is there?

Going through Sens Fortress again right now....argh....although I'd take it over blightown any day

No real reason unless you need the resources, items or rings (or want dragon cov). The drakes shortcut is always the best way down. Hell, you can even skip depths with the master key.

I see no reason to hit the great hollow or ash lake, that said I am carrying on in ng+. Anor Londo now, we'll see how I make it past the 2 dragon bow guys now that I traded snuggly for the fog ring!

I played lasy night for the first time in about a week, I was just starting off in Anor Londo and...I got invaded. I was doing pretty well and the coward took off running to the elevator, turned the lever to lower it so I would be attacked by the Gargoyle....what a coward! His plan worked though

Can't wait! Was pretty obvious their non-announcment on the PC additional content was just stalling tactics.

$15 is pretty steep, but who am I kidding. I'll be buying it! Hopefully we'll get more trophies.

Since finishing the game spits you into NG+, seems like you'll have to do a new playthrough to get to previously blocked and unaccessible areas.

Pure awesomness! I'll gladly pay $15....I always wondered why you could warp back to the abyss when there was nothing there? mabye now we'll know.

I just started over with a new character about a week ago. Forgot how good this game is until I played it again. Just got into the painted world last night. Now with DLC, even better!

I had better luck soloing them. Drop Ornstein early with pyro, then get Smough stuck behind a pillar and kill him with projectiles. They have less health that way, too...

well......I went to fire up dark souls friday night and wham...YLOD....120 hrs of dark souls. I am going to try the hairdryer trick to get it to boot, then back up to an external HDD until I get a new slim...can anyone say SUCK

I'm pretty sure the save file for Dark Souls is encrypted and not transferrable. I think I heard you can use the cloud to transfer it to a a different PS3 though.

If it makes you feel any better I lost a 150 hour demons Souls game save to YLOD.... twice!

No, that doesnt make me feel any better...what do you know about this backup/transfer for DS tyrant? Basically I was gonna have my friend bring his external HDD over and back my stuff up assuming the hair dryer trick works, can that be done?

I know you can not "backup" copy protected saves to an external HDD.

I've heard that if you have a another (blank) PS3 system you can "transfer" from the old to the new and it will transfer you PS3 game save. But I've also heard that sometimes systems refuse to transfer.

I'd recommend just grabbing a month or three of PSPlus and doing the gamesave to server thing if you really, really want the gamesave.

sounds like PS+ is my only hope, I dont want to quit now as I am half way through NG+ and DLC is coming out, hopefully it will hold together long enough to purchase the PS+ and then back up

OK, just for info for anyone that needs to backup this game. I did the hair dryer thing and got my ps3 working again. I got a new 320GB slim with a 30 day free trial to PS+ so I backed up DS to the cloud. I did the transfer utility from old to new and all my stuff was there INCLUDING my DS saves. Once I put it on the cloud it said I couldnt D/L it for 24 hrs so it had to transfer with the rest of my saves. At any rate, I have a new slim and saved my DS games....its a good day
