You didn't glitch the game, you can be summoned and lay your white sign down while in human form BUT you can't see other's summon sign if you drop yours.

You can still be summoned when you're human. That's normal. I'm thinking you either died and are now in Soul Form, or you are human but still have your soul sign dropped somewhere. Either situation would keep you from seeing other signs.

WOW 50 hours into the game and I didnt know you could be summoned while human. I figured that you had to be unhollowed or ghost or Phantom to be summoned. So when I was human and I died I also stayed human when I went back to the bonfire, I also kept my souls. Is that normal?
^Only if you die as phantom in someone else's world, or have the Ring of Sacrifice or Rare Ring of Sacrifice in your own world.

Funny, I also didn't figure out how all the summoning stuff worked until I was about 50 hrs in. Even though they give you so much context for every other system in the game, From Software doesn't really give any contextual clues for the rules behind online interactions.

There's been a lot of speculation about what the pendant gift is for. Last night after finishing Lost Izalith I was headed to the blacksmith near Darkroot, and in the church in the Parish near the altar was what looked like an enemy item drop, and it just contained a pendant and humanity. I've run through that area countless times since the early part of the game and never seen anything there aside from the original Fire Keeper Soul.

Either I missed some NPC event that led to this, or maybe dying with the pendant or dropping the pendant makes it show up with humanity in someone else's game...? I don't know, but it was odd.

Now I'm ready to start what I presume is the endgame, but I just got a couple of embers, and I feel like I ought to make use of them before I lose them in NG+. Too bad I screwed up my swell farming spot in Anor Londo...

Rhea of Thorolund drops that.

Aha. Never saw her again after saving her bacon in the tomb. Oops.

I really need to hit the wiki for NG+ to be sure I see everything the next time through...

Make sure to get as many Firekeeper Souls as you can before moving onto NG+.
Just got the "good" ending. What an anticlimax!

Nice to see that bonfire kindling seems to carry over to NG+, at least...

The endings in this game fall in the same category as the overall story. You're left wanting.

Good thing this game shines without good storytelling!
I finished the game last week... and don't even remember having an ending....

(really, I actually forgot it since it was... forgettable!)
How do you trigger the bad ending?
^You walk out the door. I did this the first time because I didn't even notice the bonfire. Both endings are silly.
Interesting. I guess I accidentally triggered the bad ending on my 1st playthrough then. I remember walking out of the door and triggering a cut-scene. I don't remember much about it though. It has no effect on NG+, right?

Some say it's the "Bad" ending, but personally, like Demons Souls, it appears to be the good ending to IMO.

You walk away from the power of the flame, end the time of the gods (who ended the time of the eternal dragons) and seem to free man (the pygmy's) from the gods and the hollowing. Seems to me the birth of free man. Also seems to me the god kept men enslaved by cursing them with the hollow which they then farmed to flame the bonfires. Hense the point of the asylum.

As for the game, yeah not much of an ending. Not much of a direct story either, since the story is the gameplay and the back story from talking with NCP's, reading item descriptions and exploring the areas. It's very hands off and exploration based storytelling. I tend to appreciate that. very different from say, Uncharted where you play Nate.

Names get away from me...but I don't think I've saved anyone in the Tomb. I have a pendant that I didnt start the game with and I dont remember picking it up.

First time I've ever been infuriated at this game before happened last night

so I go human form to summon people to help me get past that bastard 1st part in Anor londo and i summon two, one does at the ******* arrow guys so we finally make it into the damn bonfire room and I go to 'dismiss' my helper since you can't light the bonfire when in co-op and a damn twink comes in the game and invades me!

I rush to kill him and get him down to maybe 5% health and he runs away into some enemies I had not killed yet, so I run into the bonfire room and try to hit the bonfire so I can at least respawn there when I die, I can't! So I try to summon someone else to help me kill this lightning zwiehander arsehole, FAILED TO SUMMON! aaaaah! So I try again, FAILED! Third time, same thing! I start lobbing fireballs and get him down to around 50%, then he starts lagging out, I die in like 2 hits since he somehow got behind me I then die right at the bonfire I can't light, SO MAD!

So yeah, I had to go all the way back to the beginning of anor londo and do it again, this time I said screw it and went all the way to ornstein and smough and then worked my way back had a better group to help which was nice

Pull the network cable or XMB signout of the PSN. If someone is using vastly overpowered gear for their level, I won't even bother.
Crap like that happen to me. Some loser invades while I'm trying to summon. Ofcourse the summon fails. So I fight dude. While fighting I jump back and start running then out the blue he is behind me and backstabs for the win. I was like 10 steps away. He wasn't even close to me. Wtf

You make that sound so cool.

Elaborate on the bit about the asylum. I don't follow. Do you mean, that's why we start locked in a cell in the asylum?

I must express my frustration with this game. It's too hard. Yeah, I said it.

Allow me to explain. I played through DeS. Not to the same level as some here, but I almost completed NG+. I soul-farmed the crap out of that game (4-2 ), but I didn't material farm. I also hardly ever took part in any online (PvE or Pvp). Although I would never call DeS a walk in the park, I was able to comfortably cruise through NG by simply being of sufficient soul level. I don't think I ever hard to try a boss more than three times. In fact, I spent almost the entire game in soul form.

DaS is quite a bit more difficult, IMO - unreasonably so. There have been a couple of bosses that I absolutely could not beat without summoning. Right now, I'm stuck at the boss pair in Anor Londo. So far, I've put ~50 hours into this game, on the first playthrough, and I'm SL75.

I think I've leveled too far to be of any help in PvE. I put down my soul sign at every boss, and I am *never* summoned. I think I've been summoned maybe 5 times in the entire game. In human form, I hardly ever see soul signs, even after 1.05. I think the level-window is too small. Simply put, because of the level-window, this game actually punishes you for grinding.

I am so frustrated. I might have another go at the bosses in Anor Londo again this evening, but I might just put this game up for a while if I fail. I've got three weeks off for the holidays, and I can find better uses of my time than being this frustrated.

Well we know that humanity is the fuel to kindle bonfires from the game mechanics.

The asylum seems to be two things to me, a place to farm humanity with those cursed by the hollow (we know you need humanity to kindle bonfires) and a way of finding the fortold hollow with the dark sign.

The player ends up being the hollow with the dark sign, which links you to the bonfires. You are put on the quest to link the fires and keep them from dying by first rekindling them and then becoming the first flame, taking Gwyns place.

Just one view on it.

Go unhollow, clear the room of the giant knights before and summon Solaire. When in the fight, snipe at one of them until their focus is solely on you and lead them to the other end of the room. Defeat them while letting Solaire keep the others attention.

Once done Solaire will almost be dead, but now you can take the leftover boss on mano e mano.

Another tactic is to use the rubble of the columns to your advantage. Keep the boss on the other side of them, like you would using a tree in the forest as a shield. Attack when safe.

The fight is very difficult 1 on 1, but that's why they give you Solaire who can take a beating. It's still doable alone, but I wouldn't recommend it as the bosses don't work together; they just attack indiscriminately, so lots of luck is involved. It is the hardest pair to defeat alone, but you're not meant to take them on that way at all.

Also, what kind of weapons you running with? Fire and lightning are your friends in this battle. the longer the range the better.

Couldn't find a ramp up to Seath to attack him. I died and instead of being sent back to the last bonfire I was sent to "jail", a bonfire i'd never been to with two locked doors. I dont have the key to either door. I've killed the soliders and respawned them about 5x. I can't get out what gives?

There is a sleeping lizard-guard just outside of the jail cell. Swing at him through the cell and you should kill him and pick up a key that he drops.

i never have a problem getting summoned, sometimes it takes like 5 minutes or so but I always get summoned, its how I level since you get a ton of souls for helping people especially NG+ people
post #960 of 1246
Decided to go straight to the Catacombs on NG+ for the hell of it, and it was a little nastier than I expected -- regular skeletons took 4 hits with a Divine Mace +9 and they parried me quite a few times until I got more methodical with my attacks. Didn't really expect that after I 1-hitted my way through the Undead Asylum and obliterated the boss there with no effort.

And man, I really miss bonfire warping now. Didn't realize how much the Lordvessel had spoiled me...LOL.

I can already tell that my Lightning Spear +5 is nearing the end of its useful life, and the inability to upgrade my Stone Armor is going to make it taper off, too. Going to have to rethink my loadout and target my stats appropriately. Might switch over to my Fire Axe +8 in the short term, since it's starting to outpace the spear in stats and still has room to grow...
