Can i manually clean a DVD recorder laser with achol?

Can I DVD recorder laser be cleaned with rubbing acohol safely???

Personally I wouldn't use a solvent on the lens, instead I'd use a fine bristled brush. A clean makeup brush works good. That said if your lens has something stuck to it(as apposed to the normal fine dust) I guess iso alcohol would be one of the gentlest of solvents you could use.
Truthfully I've never had a take apart laser cleaning fix anything that a cleaning disc didn't help. Actually cleaning discs usually don't help either but I've had them help a few times, but the times they didn't help I've tried the manual cleaning method which didn't help either.
