I just ordered an EP350 .....Jack or anybody is there a code in the Logitech database that I can use that is close to this media player???? This player is not uncommon. I am a little surprised.

Looking to buy a EP350 G2. This has been around before, but I would like the latest.
My question is playing multi-track audio files, such as FLAC or WAV. Also I have some old rips off of DVD-Audio discs. My plan is to HDMI the Micca to my Denon, which has HDMI 1.3a Will all channels sound with this setup?

I just bought a Micca 350 G2 to replace my WDLive (which I otherwise like but does not output TrueHD or DTS-HD, or even 7.1 channels with "normal" DTS). I like the player so far (and it does output those audio formats correctly, now that I have set HDMI to "raw") but I am immediately struck by the lack of thumbnails.

If I put JPGs in the folders for the movie files (which I did for the Live) I get thumbnails for the movies AND it shows the JPGs, which is stupid (I don't want to "play" the JPGs). If I don't have the JPGs, no thumbnails (for the MKV files, which cannot have them embedded). Is there no way around this? At least with the Live (which had the same issue) it sorted the JPGs first so you didn't have duplicated cluttering up the display. Also, you could switch to no thumbnail mode (which I prefer but doesn't seem possible with the Micca). So, two questions:

Can you turn to a title only mode? (no thumbnails shown, including no JPGs)
Can you suppress the JPGs in a folder for movies?

(I should add these files are all on a NAS and that is how I am navigating to it -- I do see there is a movie icon but it is grayed out and I assume it is only for those movies that are accessible through direct storage and not streamed).

Ah -- well I RTFM and answered at least one of my questions: obviously there is an option to turn on the line mode which will solve my problem. So -- forget my post.

(However, it would have been easier to solve this myself if the @#$!@#$ remote had worked -- it came DOA even with fresh batteries, and only the fact that I had a Harmony Remote that could emulate it saved me. But since it doesn't have all the same buttons I couldn't find all these things -- no "option" button, for example).

And as a further "nevermind" I've decided to return the unit to Amazon anyway.

While it plays the audio just fine, it has a terrible time stuttering with streaming files from my NAS (with a wired connection), something which my Live units never have (as a matter of fact, we just had to finish watching ET on my Live unit because the Micca wouldn't finish playing it properly). In a contest between not stuttering and playing audio fine, not stuttering wins every time .

I'm sure it plays local files just fine, so for that purpose I'm guessing most folks will be happy (but since my household is served by 30TB of NAS, I can't see changing things just for that purpose). Too bad -- otherwise it looked like a nice unit.

Ah -- one more thing (invoking the Jobs ghost).

So I did some research and found this streaming issue was related to how the net shares were set up (I was using Samba for my Live units). Tried NFS as suggested and got much better results. Not perfect -- still a freeze or so every hour -- but far better than before. This begs the question, if NFS is better, why isn't it perfect?

So I'm not returning this right away but I still have several questions (and I'm not sure anyone from Micca is monitoring this thread anymore so it may just be a waste of time asking). I'm thinking I may try a local hard drive, even though my whole house is far better served with my NAS units. For one thing, this Micca is just used for my 9' HD system, so it wouldn't be awful if only certain movies were available. And I'm fairly sure it will play better than streaming (it had better :>). But I find nowhere in the manual what the size limit on the drive is -- anyone know? I'm going to try a 3TB SATA (if it doesn't work I can always use another 3TB somewhere in my system) but it would be helpful to have some guidelines here. And any recommended drives from anyone?

Also, I still can't get the line display mode to work. You're supposed to be able to press "Option" and change it, but that isn't working for me (now, it may still be that I don't have the right remote. Micca is sending me another so perhaps that will solve the issue, but my Harmony is theoretically sending that Option signal and nothing is happening). Is this an issue for anyone else?

Finally, any way to dim or turn off that blue light on the front? I'm going to cover it with something (but I have to be careful not to cover too much that the remove won't work) but it would be nice if I could turn it off via software (it really is BRIGHT in an otherwise dark projection room).

I really want to like this unit -- playing True HD and DTS-MA is a big plus, and it seems to work fine for the most part, even if there are a few bumps and dips along the way.

I managed to make my remote work again, I cracked it open cleaned it, sanded the battery terminals a bit(they were corroded because of the last battery pack I used) whit a fine sanding paper and it worked.

I had not bother to do that before because the remote would just send a signal any time I point it to the player, thus locking/jamming all the buttons. I'm not sure how that got fixed but the only thing I did in sort of a last hope action was to scrub all the buttons directly on the PCB when I had it open until it got unlocked.

for the moment it's working will see how long it last.

I just purchased an EP350G2 from Amazon, mainly for streaming music from my NAS - it looks very promising, I think I will be happy with it, but I am having a couple of issues.

I sent an e-mail to support a couple of days ago, but haven't heard anything back (other than a request for my order and serial #, which I immediately provided), so I was hoping maybe someone here could offer some insight before the weekend, when I will have time to tinker with it.

This is esentially a copy-and-paste of what I sent to support:

I have connected the 350 to my Anthem AVM50 ARC A/V Processor via HDMI, and hardwired Ethernet to my router.

• I cannot select 1080p, via either the remote TV System or the Setup menus. Pressing the TV System button toggles 480p/576p/720p/1080i.
• I have no sound via HDMI; Coax works fine. I have only attempted to stream music thus far, i.e., no video. I've tried both the LCPM and RAW setting.
• I am streaming music from a NAS. The server software is the latest version of Twonky Media Server. For some reason, whatever container I access via (Artist/Album, Genre/Artist/Album, whatever) the tracks are sorted alphabetically rather than by track number. I thought perhaps it was Twonky, but when I use my PS3 and access the same files, the PS3 sorts them correctly. I've checked both flac and MP3 with the same result.
• Dumb question, but I cannot figure out how to get back to the "Now Playing" screen if I have music playing and exit via the "Return" button. The music keeps playing, I just can't get back...

I have had the EP350 for about 3 weeks now. Has anyone noticed that everything played thru it is a little dark. I am coming from a WDTV Live Plus that seemed fine but on this EP350 in dark scenes it looks horrendous. I will say on the old Asus O!Play streamer I had I was forced to modify settings also. When playing things through my XBOX (Media Center) all content looks fine.

Maybe it is my TV (an ancient RPTV Hitachi 57S500) and this streamer???

Anyone seen this???

I also have WDTV Live Plus boxes (three of them) and don't notice any difference with my Micca 350 in terms of picture in any shape or form (I've had it about three weeks as well, and watched maybe ten or twelve movies). We watched "Abraham Lincoln Vampire" thingee on it (plenty of dark scenes) and it looked just fine. Now, I haven't compared it to the Live with that particular movie, but I did watch "Hunt for Red October" which I've seen on the Live and it looked just as good on the Micca (not a ton of dark scenes but at least a few that aren't brightly lit, like the passage through the trench).

I'm using HDMI out, 24FPS, and no Deep Color (or set on auto, I don't remember which, but it isn't that important since there are no Deep Color sources and unlikely to ever be). If you aren't using HDMI that might be an issue.

I have a problem with my EP350 G2 which I purchased a few months ago.

It is having problems simply playing MP3 files. I can play movies just fine in DTS-MA or TrueHD or any format it seems. Videos are fine. But if I try to play an mp3, it won't play.

At first I tried turning off the switch on the EP350 and then turning it back on again, and I could play mp3s. It seemed like I would have to do this every time I tried to play an mp3. (Turn off, turn back on, then play mp3... kind of a hassle.) Now, it won't play mp3's even if I turn it off and back on.

I have searched this thread and the internet, and have not come across this issue.

I am on the latest Firmware release (Feb 2012), and I am playing files off of a 2TB Western Digital 2TB Caviar internal hard drive, and I formatted it with the EP350 G2.

I am stumped on what to try. I thought about trying to load the old firmware, and then re-loading the newest firmware, just to try something, but figured I would post here first.

Any ideas?

I just want to confirm for anyone else that has the same doubt I had, that the harmony remotes do have the configuration for the micca EP-350 (first gen). I got the cheapest one (model 200) and it made my player usable again after my controller failed.

I bought mine in January. At first it played everything fine, then I suddenly had problems playing MP3's for some reason. It would show them as playing, but there wouldn't be any sound at all. I realized after a while that when I adjust the volume with the remote, it suddenly starts playing out the speakers. I have to do that every time for the first song I play when I turn the unit on, then it's OK.

Though my new issue is playlists... I can't get it to load an .m3u playlist. At first I tried a list with over 1000 songs, so I thought I must be too big, but then I tried one with 15 songs and it still wouldn't play it. What types of playlists are supported?

Will this ep350 G2 play 3D ISO files?

If not, what player will?

I just purchaed the micca ep350 and so far am very pleased with the way it works. I am streaming movies on a share on my Desktop through my network to the micca ep350. During playback for a couple of seconds the audio and video cut out (but playback does not stop) and then comes back on about 2 to 3 seconds later. This may happen several times during a mvoie and can be very annoying. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone have any suggestions on what I can try to fix the problem? Thanks in advance!!

I should also mention that my desktop is connected directly to my router in my office and the micca box is in my movie room connected to a switch via hardwire which is also directly connected to my router in my office. I was using an Argosy media player and that one did not have any issues with playback except for blu-ray files. The micca seems to have the issue with the audio and video cutting out whenever I play any video files (mkv, mp4, iso, vob, etc.).

After further investigating I found out the problem happens only when I have the HDMI output from the Micca EP350 go through my Onkyo TX-NR616 receiver. If I connect the EP350 directly to my TV then it plays okay. I've never had any problems with any other media streaming players (Roku, Argossy, PC's, blu-ray players, etc.) going through my receiver so I don't know if it is just an incompatibility problem with my receiver and the micca player or not. Has anyone else ever had any problems using the Micca EP350 through a receiver or is there a setting that can be changed to fix the problem?

Are you sure you're running the latest firmware? I think this may have been a problem in earlier versions that was subsequently fixed.

Yes, I checked and I am using the latest firmware. I did some more checking and it turned out that the problem was my HDMI cable. Even though it was a high speed HDMI cable with ethernet it must have been defective because once I swapped it out with a new HDMI cable everything worked great.

Hello! I have Micca EP350 (non G2) but it can't load youtube videos. It says doesn't find the server. I have the newest firmware released on 30/08/11. Can I upgrade it to a newer frimware?
