'So You Think You Can Dance' Season Eight - FOX HD

OK, folks, as I was doing a search about our favorite dance show to make sure I had a fact straight I came across something referencing the show for 2011. THEN, when I followed up on one of those links I found there's an SYTYCD.net website, and here's the link for THAT to start off the thread for Season Eight -- especially since we already MISSED the audition date for Salt Lake City, which was yesterday.

http://sytycd.net/so-you-think-you-c...on-dates-3572/

I'm VERY happy to note that my favorite contemporary dancer on the show, maybe EVER, Kathryn, is prominently displayed on the auditions page, making me think I'm not the ONLY one who knows talent when they see it!

Please no Live to Dance talk in here. Just saying..

Damn, Kathryn looks more buff every time I see her. She sure has toned-up a lot since the season she competed.

You're the ONLY ONE doing it, so far, Mx6. If you delete your post, the words won't even BE in this thread. That's A BIG part of the reason I went ahead and started a Season Eight thread... That, plus the fact that while confirming some of my facts I saw there WAS news for Season Eight.

Hey, so have you guys checked out Live2Dance?

The sound you hear in the background is that of one of mx6's forehead veins exploding.

Any season with Kathryn is a good season.

I certainly agree with that! I've had a favorite female dancer every season, so far, but I think she's my favorite for all the seasons, and not because she's the "prettiest" or the sexiest, although she's certainly "easy on the eyes." She's just an incredible dancer with lots of poise and charm, as well.

I really meant it when I said she "out-krumped" Russell in their krump duet on the tour -- by a considerable margin, I thought. And of course that's WAY outside her "wheelhouse" and not particularly to my tastes, either. But I've yet to see Kathryn given any dance task she couldn't master.

Something to remind us of the upcoming season...

Hey DSperber, I didn't see that photo when I first saw your post, just the words and I couldn't figure out what you meant Thanks for the photo.
Anyway did anyone else notice Mark towards the end of Lady Gaga's number on the Grammys? I'm quite sure it was Mark(along with several other dancers) but was wondering if anyone else caught it. If so he sure seems to be getting lots of well deserved high profile work lately

Why would anyone be tuned into watch Lady Gag-Gag?

THIS is the week! It's finally here.

Noticed that Mark was a background dancer with Gaga again tonight, on the finale of SNL.

Can't wait! I also noticed Mark on SNL. If anyone was meant to dance backup for Gaga it would be Mark..... He looked so natural wearing pleather, a kilt, black leather work boots and whatever the heck that gold buckled chest bearing top was IMO he was the star dancer in both numbers, in the first he was just to the left of Gaga and featured in most shots. Even the second number he was one of only two to lift Gaga up into the stirrups for her simulated child birth If not Gaga then Mark would certainly have fit in with Madonna back when she was doing such crazy antics....
DWTS finale on Tuesday and SYTYCD starting on Thursday, they don't waste much time

How much photoshopping is going on there, because she looks a-amazing!

Mark is in a lot of her videos as well. Alejandro for sure as well as Judas. Probably more.

Bring it on. It is about time!!!!!!!!!!!

How the Hell are we this close without JeffHayes starting a Season 9 thread?
I read that the rules of the show this season are kind of a hybrid, bringing back the method of the original seasons early on with a top 20, and partners + dance style selected out of a hat. They will have one day to prepare for the performance show.

When they get to the top 10, they will bring in the all-stars to be partners to each.

Mark has been a member of GaGa's dance troupe during her latest tour. HBO aired her concert from Madison Square Garden and he was one of the dancers.

Wasn't it Mark who danced with Chelsie (Hightower) in the "Bleeding Love" number?

Yes.

My own personal favorite is still his Season #4 number with Courtney Galiano in "The Garden", choreographed by Sonya Tayeh.

You are correct...great routine!!!

my wife also noticed Mark in GaGa's dancers on the SNL finale the other night. We're looking forward to the start of SYTYCD this week!

One day left!!
Oh and another Mark sighting this time on A.I. season finale, again with Gaga. He and Gaga were the only two up on top of a large cliff prop. Definitely Gaga's top dancer

These auditions (Atlanta, San Francisco) were okay. I was impressed with a few: the B-boy they sent straight through to Vegas (have they ever done that before?), and Ashley whats-her-face, thin black contemporary dancer, leap to mind. Good to have Mary back .

I find that I've lost all patience for humiliation sequences; when someone is obviously going to suck, I skip over it. Though apparently obligatory, it just seems kind of mean-spirited to put this stuff on the air, no matter how much the auditionee was asking for it.

Looks like they wrap up the auditions in 3 more cities next week over two nights: NYC, Salt Lake and LA. Hopefully they'll complete Vegas over a couple nights the week after. I'm looking forward to this .

Saw that as well.

Do I sense a Britney/Federline or JLo/Judd situation coming on here???

Agreed - I do the same thing. Although it does seem that they do less than they used to and focus on the good dancers instead.

I also tend to skip anything Tyce has to say. He's gotten more and more on my nerves with each season.

Love this show!!! Sooo glad it is back.

And more off base. Remember the "once in a lifetime" dancer he rained praise on after her single audition and didn't even make it on the show?

Glad to have SYTYCD back and yay, Katee was back. Overall a pretty good first audition show with some potentially very good dancers. I really like the cute, perky Art major with the short hair style. She's definitely got something.
