Battlefield 3 - Page 399

Aw shucks. I spent a bunch of time on a video, a montage, uploaded it to YouTube only to have them mute the audio track due to copyright restrictions. I had a feeling that might happen.

Does anybody know of another way to share the video here for the time being? Thanks
post #11942 of 14326
photobucket
I opened an account there, tried to upload and it failed to upload (after taking a pretty long time to get to 100%) and photobucket didn't tell me why it failed saying "something didn't click". Hmmm
post #11944 of 14326
MPH, do you have dropbox? You can always place it in a Public folder there and share it.
Tried photobucket twice...it won't upload there.

No, what is dropbox? Guess I can google it.
Just a cloud service. They have a free account, not sure how large your file is but it should be more than enough for the file. Just not sure if you can embed it, might have to put the link up.

I have rerecorded the songs and avoided that copyright on youtube. I usually get a message stating that I might have copyrighted material but they never stopped it.
Never used it, but you could try Google Drive if you have a gmail account.

Speaking of Photobucket, here's my old controller:

Gotta say that the PS3 analog sticks really help with flying, and by removing the fugly green LED from the #1 position, the true blackout serves me much better in the dark. (I did leave the remaining LEDs in so that when the batt gets low, I can see it light up.) Not having those ugly-ass abxy buttons on the controller are an added plus as well, but that's just cosmetic. I've done this numerous times...mostly because I destroyed a few controllers due to BF rage and others because I have ZERO tolerance for dead-zone analog drift!

I don't know what to tell ya MPH. It took me 2hrs to update the dashboard yesterday. Sick and tired of technical issues!!
Yeah same here.

Lessened learned. Guess I'll give the video to my brother and see how he competes with the song I picked. The song really makes it. YouTube would play the video, but only without the audio playing. I watched it without the music playing, and frankly it seemed kind of stupid.

I did the dropbox thing, and invited you Lazy to the "shared" folder I created- "AVS videos". I had your email still from your last pm. Looks like it will take about an hour for the 364MB wmv file to upload to that shared folder. I guess once that happens I am hoping that I can post a link here. If the only option is for everyone to download this dropbox thing and set up an account...well that is not the option I was looking for. But if I can just post a link to view it easily that would work.
People wont need an account. Between personal and business I use it a lot and never encountered a problem when sharing or sending stuff. Google drive is googles version, I used to use both but found it easier to stick with one.

On some BF3 news, the next dog tag challenge is out. 2 million air kills to unlock the Death Dealer dog tag. PS3 won the challenge last month, even though each platform gets the tags once they completed the challenge.

Oct 27-28 is the air kills challenge, the top 5 players with the most air kills (kills from air based vehicles) will win the prize. A signed and numbered BF3 lithograph. I guess its nice if you are into that.

Starting at 10am EST on Oct 31, double xp for all premium members. This will run for 96 hours.

Thats all I got.
I swear, playing last night, the whole team was knifing everyone.
I say will all chip in and buy Zath deliver food during those 48 hours.

Well I can't seem to find a way to link that video with out having to sign in to view it. It is uploaded, though it is pretty poor quality viewing it through their website thing. I tried to share it with you Lazy. IDK. Google is still trying to sync it or it timed out. IDK

Here is the only link I know how to offer through dropbox...https://www.dropbox.com/home/AVS%20videos

Was it necessary to add that last final clip?
I just thought the tower coming down and all deserved one more showing.
Oh the tower fell, didnt notice it? All I saw was you distracting me while Shiles sneaks up and slits my throat.
Yeah the tower falling and the end of my videos is my thing man, get with it.

Seriously, yeah you barely missed an epic death. You probably missed it because you fell asleep again. Lucky for you, it did barely miss you. Or else I would find a way to post a video of that death in my sig.
all this bf3 talk makes me think I should turn on my xbox.
Thank you guys for the kind words. I am currently out of town on a trade show and miss playing Bf3, why is there no portable xbox?

As for the lag, east us is fine almost all the time but west us is almost unplayable for me. I think I still rage quit a lot when I play alone with randoms.

That game against Bat was very challenging but was also strange because there were guys (non Bat) who performed jumps and turns which I think would be impssible to perform with a controller. Maybe they were using a Xim and a keyboard/mouse? Also there was one guy who we shot at with 3 people and he would not die. Nonetheless it was awesome playing with Hapi, Nexus and Trail.

@Snake do not wait till December but join us asap ;-)

I am also thinking about buying Halo 4 if you guys could teach me its magic.

Looking forward to our next games.

Well I think I may have found a pretty good solution. Google Drive lets me post a link and anyone can view it...and an account is not necessary like it is with dropbox.com.

It says it even has 1080p as an option for streaming, but it stills seems that the quality comes out very poor. It also seems unwatchable while it is still downloading. None the less it was not a bad option considering.

So guys if you stream it I think you have to use 1080p and let it completely download. Other wise it gets too jumpy and makes weird noises.

I wrote this description earlier when I tried to post on YouTube and had planned on pasting it here as I was mainly:

"For some reason I was nervous about making a montage, because there are so many really good BF3 montages out there from the pc community. I mean, there are just some really good gamers making some really awesome videos out there. I was reluctant to dive into it, but really, really want to. I ended up trying to provide a different take on it, and I'm really happy I did, because it means so much more to me now. My take was to try to include a bunch of my buddies in the video. In all the clips most of my squad and team are my AVS xbox friends. This, to me, is kind of like a mini time lapse montage of the past 8 months or so of us playing together and the crazy madness that can ensue and develop. At times this game is just great. The song just happened to be something I have been listening to lately, so don't be scare by the word "love" from time to time. Though to me the lyrics kind remind me of my relationship with the game itself. It has taken me quite a bit of time to figure everything out, as this was the first battlefield game I have played. As a matter of fact the only games I have played online are Halo 3, Halo Reach and Battlefield 3."

Guys, I have been wanting to make some epic montages. I actually like this video (only when coupled with the song of course...I know nothing about this band though). I found my self stressed out over the thought of trying to make a decent one. But after I dove into it, I decided to make it an all AVS clip. To me that made it very meaningful. And that is why I like it. Plus some weird sounds from the song just happen to work out very well. I hope you guys enjoy, my mini time lapse montage of us playing together! And without futher ado. Sheesh...

Remember let the stream download all the way (on 1080p if you can, then watch it), this isn't as good as YouTube... (You have to change the quality, then hit play then pause until it is done.)

It's under 5 minutes

Nicely done. You've inspired me to play at work tonight.

You can use my gamertag, I won't mind.
Challenge accepted!

MPH, nice video. Nice jet footage smile.gif. Any reason you decided to fire your LMG at the chopper???
S**ts and giggles I think. Not real sure honestly. Yeah I just checked, that video was from August, so yeah just having fun I guess. Probably should have gone for the Tow Missile instead huh. Watching the full video I think we were kind of screwing off. But it went along with the madness theme, huh. lol

Seriously, are you thinking about doing the Jet thing. Give me the number of you local choice of delivery if you are serious about it. I have no doubt if you put in the proper amount of time you could do extremely well. Though you would have to do some research to see if people would be cheating and whatnot. Different servers could be an issue, like getting stuck in a bad one for what you would need to do. Like for example, would there be a site that would be keeping a running tally?

And oh, BTW, I looked it up and, yeah, this guy is still the number one jet pilot in the world on xbox...a full 8,000 kills ahead of the next guy...

I still can't believe I got him on video doing that

Nice!

The challenge is only counted on a specific premium server. Which is why I can't get in. I'd be all over it, though, if I did have premium. Not sure a lithograph is worth $50, especially if it's a "chance"!

Yeah I figured it was just for fun. The bolt action snipe fest followed by surprise knifing kind of gave it away tongue.gif

Love the video. Awesome!
LOL MPH.
Awesome vid, mph!

Yeah it wouldn't be worth 50 bucks, Zath. I'm sure there are going to be people playing with multiple buckets, cases of mountain dew, and doritos getting 24/7 gametime in. Even though you are ridiculous efficient that amount of playtime would be tough to compete against.
Trail, that's exactly my thought.

Plus if it's only on one server, I can only imagine how long it would take to even get a chance to fly. Not worth it.
