Battlefield 3 - Page 428

Rivalxfactor on how he records his games. I did not realize he has only been doing this for one year. I am still in the dark here. But I could see this video coming in handy in the future, if I decide to do a pc rig. I was clueless lately about some of the modem comments, but I should use that stuff to improve my gaming setup. Maybe we could go over my stuff sometime to see if I am getting the best I can get. Damn you guys are so smart.

Oh and Zath...I am aboiut to the point of forcing you to do a 12 hour Jet team up with me. ...

If anybody needs some MS points and/or Live cards, BestBuy is offering 3 months of Live and 800 points for $13 total.* (Think of it as spending $4 for the points or $3 for 3 months of Live.)

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Microsoft+-+Xbox+LIVE+3-Month+Gold+Membership/6509131.p?id=1218751968314&skuId=6509131&st=6509131&cp=1&lp=1

Since you can only order one 3 month card and 800 point deal at a time, you have to place seperate orders to get multiples of this deal. (I bought 30, so that gives me another 24,000 points and 7.5 years of Live...not to mention some points going to MPH for the AVS server. smile.gif)

*Just add the Live card and the 800 points show up automatically. Choose free shipping and you'll get your points emailed to you. Mine took about 30 minutes to arrive. Live cards are actually mailed.

Sold out online. Bummer. I saw that deal this morning, but I had no idea the 800 points came with it.

Yep. Sold out fast. Still available in store though. I ended up buying 40 total, so you can thank me for helping to kill the deal. wink.gif

*Might share with a few lucky souls here at AVS, but you can't kill me on BF3 for a month if I do. biggrin.gif

Yeah those were some humbling games. You were spanked and I was beaten unmercifully. I hopped on a full AVS server and got man handled 6 games in a row. I think I went negative in all but 2 games before I called it a night.

Thanks Spyder, my Live is actually expiring in a few weeks.

*&%$ you Spyder for killing the deal!

Man I think you attract a bunch of good players. Last few games I remember playing with you were tough ones. Even the one on bazaar where we had both lavs and our teammates were still having trouble just getting us one flag back.

I will be on tonight around 9:30PM central time until about 11:30 (or longer, if the game is good). I caught Hapi for an hour or so yesterday afternoon before anyone else hopped on. Most of you must have still been hungover at that time.

Or maybe he attracts crappy teammates? I hated playing Halo 3/Reach with my uncle because his rank was always higher than mine (he's really good) so Halo would match us up with players his level it seemed. I would usually just get dominated.

He didn't say no "bad luck", you don't get any points for colliding mid-air.

That was a rad game from what I remember... lots of killing sprees. I think you rampaged in the LAV for over 20 minutes towards the end of the game. I recorded it... I was going to edit it before I posted.
So I'm online now but no one's on frown.gif

Are people still playing Aftermath? Or is it becoming like Close Quarters?

Those maps still get lots of play.

Haha yeah I didn't string too many kills together like you did. I just wanted to make sure they didn't get the lav back after I failed to keep it the first time. I played very conservative at the end.

Zath: aftermath is probably my favorite map pack. But it is a little more infantry focused. There are tanks in some maps and game modes as well as the scout choppers. The other vehicles leave you pretty exposed.

I don't think I'll be able to get any games in tonight but I'll try.

I'm not worried about lack of jets. I just wan to make sure people play it. Don't want a repeat of BC2: Vietnam.
Yeah I hear ya. I Think this one would stick more than close quarters purely due to it being the normal max player limit. So these maps can be put into rotation with vanilla, b2k, and armored shield

I loved BC2: Vietnam. I just hated you couldn't mix the vanilla maps with them. I think that more than anything was the problem with it.
Well that is absolutely the problem with Close Quarters. I love those maps but never play them because of the 8 v 8 cap. Yeah, Aftermath maps are here to stay. They are really nice maps. On two of them a good tank driver can dominate 1/3 to a 1/2 of the map.

I'm on playing now BTW.

Me too. Vietnam was 1,000,000 times better than the regular maps, imo. It had a real gritty feel to it, and required some extra teamwork to dominate. I also loved that routes were wide open, what with being able to hide virtually anywhere in the terrain. Also liked that choppers could be taken down by any weapon, so you didn't get some jackhole crushing teams while they desperately tried to use the tracer on it. Wa really hoping BF3 would have a map pack like Vietnam, but alas, it's not going to happen. frown.gif

Ill be back on soon. I was on earlier and took a little break

Downloading Aftermath now. I'll check periodically today to see if anyone's on. Last real chance to get good game time w/o the wife around smile.gif
post #12833 of 16243
I was planning on putting some time in tomorrow. I'll see what I can do today.

If I didn't know you better, I'd wonder if you had ulterior motives for trying to put her in a glider. wink.gif

Aftermath are good maps and still enjoying them. Maps are bit confusing at first but you'll get use to them. I still have problems getting stuck on little thing, which I hate. Rush is frustrating but Conquest is fun. No jets and new weapons. Land vehicles other than tanks, are useless. Not a fan of the Xbow. Wifey will be out all next week at CES and Ill be home with the kid. Most likely i'll be on early.

Good games with Trail. He earned a new achievement:

It's cool to see people doing well in the air!

As usual, couldn't kill anyone in 1-on-1 matchups, even with the M16A3 that Trail runs around blasting people with. Foregrip and Heavy Barrel right now. Or am I doing it wrong?
I think it is pretty easy on Aftermath maps for people to get a jump on you. Best thing is to move with the herd. Hb and foregrip sounds right for the M16. Will try and hop on later.
Zath, try flash suppressor, it helps with the M16's recoil. Keeps the gun on target.
Off topic for the whiskey drinkers here: http://www.masterofmalt.com/samples/
post #12840 of 16243
Zath recommended combos on the m16- For myself. I can't stand recoil.
If i go full auto i run the A3 with the suppressor and anything but the grip.
I always use the bipod but most anything would be fine. With grip it starts to stray a lot easier, IMO. Suppressor lets you pin the trigger and not have it go everywhere.
If no suppression I (and hapi) do the a4 with grip and flash suppression, deadliest in the game I think. Only thing that is going to beat it long range is a semi sniper and close range is a shotty (IF he gets the first shot).
If still want full auto I wouldn't run grip if you are going to hold the trigger, grip really makes you get off the trigger if you want to be accurate at all.

Just remembered .. Tip for anyone.. If you come around corner face to face with a guy and have a habit of LDS, ALWAYS. ALWAYS. Pull right trigger first and then bring the left. By the time you bring the sight up you already have 3-4 bullets in the guy. Do it especially if its only one guy. I dunno if hapi does but I win 95%+ of the fights I'm in if you can start firing THEN ADS without ever getting off the trigger.

and hapi. Damn you. Want.
